@valkyriegf.bsky.social
finally made a bsky (with my IG handle; apologies to anyone I followed who didn't recognize the handle)

Still reading more than posting.

Prison abolition. Trans rights.

she/her 🏳‍🌈
Definitely misread this as "when God was shot." Which, honestly, theologically I stand by that.
The sheer number of videos of the shooting is horrific, but in the vein of what @prisonculture.bsky.social has been saying, it proves how many people cared enough to show up where ICE was and record them. It wasn't just one or two legal observers, and when Good was shot, they didn't abandon her.

Oh, neat. I didn't like E4E as much as I had hoped to, but there's a lot of interesting potential in the world, so I'll be interested to check this out.

I saw a Tumblr post recently about Chanukah is the only Jewish holiday that doesn't have a set prep period -- because it was a surprise to the original participants, so if Chanukah catches you by surprise/unprepared, then you're doing it right.

I was gonna be like, "Your autocorrect is a big Dessa fan," but no, I Googled, and that song is VELODROME. ::facepalm::

(In my defense? I only know the song from a Clone Wars fan vid, which I haven't watched in some time. No, I don't even go there. Yes, I really like the vid.)

This is your chance to speak up for the trans books and authors you’ve enjoyed this year! Whatever your faves were, please add your voice to the voting process

Short list nominees and winners are decided by fairly slim margins, so your votes make a big difference in whether books get noticed!
For our second year, I'm proud to present the TFR Reader's Choice Awards, the only literary awards where YOU can vote for your favorite transfeminine books of 2025 🩷

Voting is open right now! The voting period will last until December 26th, 2025 at 11:59 PM, so don't forget to cast your ballot.

What were your favourite reads/pieces of media this year that ft transmasculinity??
solomonskalozub.blogspot.com/2025/12/tran... I threw this together as an easier reference for people looking for *something* featuring transmasculinity. I will eventually get back to doing essays for each individual media I mention here, but I felt this may aid people in finding the story they need!

How accessible is age verification technology to trans users? For @techpolicypress.bsky.social, we tried to figure that out. www.techpolicy.press/age-verifica...
Age Verification Is Locking Trans People Out of the Internet | TechPolicy.Press
Experts tell Dia Kayyali and Jasmine Mithani that age verification, sold as a fix for kids’ online safety, expands surveillance and deepens discrimination.

Kinda blows my mind how many people act like we're competing over a fixed no. of voters when 1/3 of people who can vote don't. What could be accomplished if we focused on removing barriers to voting and articulating how a progressive policy agenda could appreciably improve people's quality of life?

The thing to understand about "age verification" laws is that they are not just for kids

The only way to "stop kids from doing xyz online" using age-gating is to demand a government ID (or invasive biometric face scan) from EVERYONE.

This means associating your gov ID with EVERYTHING YOU DO ONLINE

A Pep Guardiola quote has been knocking around in my brain recently. On its face it applies only to futbol, but it feels like something we could all put to use at this moment in history, when our actions count for so much. "We do not pass to move the ball. We pass to move the opposition."

I dunno what word to replace School with, but I feel you missed an opportunity in not making the acronym GBTLA (to make it closer to the alphabet soup acronym).

I have been looking at Black Friday sales for a week but I do not actually need anything so instead I closed all those tabs and bought a Polaroid for a foster kid in Florida who uses photography to deal with big feelings. Perhaps you would like to do the same for one of the kids at the link below?
🧵 We are, in fact, doing the thing again for @onesimplewish.bsky.social. In 2024, the kind people of this community put the money cannon on blast to help grant $75K in wishes for children in foster care. Toys, tech, a suit for job interviews. Here we go again! 👇

I was definitely wondering about the earlier screenshots that were written in third-person given that the title says it's a memoir.

Looking up the author, it sounds like Jax has since de-transitioned, so maybe that's part of it?
