Germany’s foreign intelligence agency (BND) intercepted phone conversations of former President Barack Obama while he was aboard Air Force One over several years. The interceptions exploited vulnerabilities in the aircraft’s encryption and known frequencies.

I rejected an illegal order about 20 years ago.

My Commander - an extremely stupid man who liked to brag about how he’d been invited to try out for a famous Special Missions Unit - ordered me to put a team with a light machine gun in an Iraqi school as part of an operation.

I said it was unlawful.

We had to deal with years of commentary around MAGA being “isolationist” because it despised NATO, the UN, and the EU.

It was always a bright, shining lie on the movement’s behalf.

MAGA takes up Jefferson Davis’ stunted foreign policy and advances it across the Americas.

Piracy and banditry.
MAGA's supposed "anti-interventionism" is actually pro-pillage and pro-plunder.

Podcaster - 6 hour a week job paying $750,000,

pretty decent gig if you’re entirely free of scruples and hate the 14th Amendment more than anything else you heard about for the first time last year.

I’m watching a SNL episode from 2012 and they’re making fun of Zooey Deschanel and Michael Cera and it’s a pretty good time capsule of how civilization was reacting to “twee” in real time.

There is well-sourced reporting courtesy of @jackmurphyrgr.bsky.social that indicates the Maduro operation was authorized under the September 2001 AUMF.

This is absurd but no one is going to lose their rank over the definition of “narcoterrorist” and whether it fits within the AUMF’s porous limits.
Real black pilled on the military. The oath means absolutely nothing at all, apparently. Happy to be praetorians, just as long as the check clears.

The real civil-military relations crisis was here all along.

Remember when Valerie Jarrett thought the uniformed VCSA was a waiter and asked for a drink?

Hilarious! Good natured fun.
i am not really sure this crisis shows JSOC-like entities are bad bc the problem in general is expectation that military is going to be some autonomous source of moral good when US political institutions as a whole have fallen

This is how it's done. If incumbent Democrats won't do the job, their primary challengers can and will use this to make sure someone else does
The Republican Congress has chosen to give away its authority and power and now we are being told Trump plans to occupy Venezuela. We don't cry for Maduro. We demand the following of our laws and Constitution. He is already threatening Mexico and Cuba will be next. Ann Wagner is silent.

"This actually isn't about oil" is often perfectly correct and it's guaranteed to make the most noxious, stupid people on the internet lose their ever-living minds.
OK, crash course in oil. Oil has two main gradings, viscosity (light or heavy) and sulfur (sweet or sour). A light (low viscosity) and sweet (low sulfur) oil is easier to process into gasoline and other products than a heavy and sour one, so the light & sweet oil commands a premium price.
I know several oil barons, I’ve had the oil and gas industry as clients in a past life: none of them want the Venezuelan oil, it’s dog shit quality and getting the PDVSA fields up to modern standards would take 20 years! It’s just trump being stuck in 1987

Substantial amount of ink spilled in how the Ellisons hired Bari Weiss to fundamentally re-orient CBS News to launder right wing perspectives on behalf of the White House.

It's an important story, no error in observing.

Same attention needs to be on American national security think tanks in DC.

“This donut tastes good.”

I bet, but you stole it. Whether or not it tastes good is irrelevant.

“But I wanted it.”

Of course you did. You stole it. You’re not supposed to steal. It’s a crime. It’s a violation of the public trust.

“It’s my donut. I just ate it.”

If Democrats had a national security bench with courage, they could make a strong argument about why the rule of law is paramount & simply waving at gofast boats and saying “imminent threat, they die”, or picking fugitives up in acts of war, are fundamental abrogations of the Constitutional order.

I’d leak this, too, if I wanted loyalists to start dumping their cell phones all while giving verbal orders to start ventilating each other for the next 36 hours.
