It‘s the procurement, stupid!

Long investigation by @zeit.de into never-endig problems of procurement of new air reconnaissance planes in Germany‘s Bundeswehr. The last ones, built in 60s, were retired in 2010. There is still no replacement.

It‘s not only about money!

Canada ordered 88 F35s but is legally obligated to buy only the first 16. It is now reconsidering its plan for the remaining 72 planes. I’m sure European manufacturers will be making pitches as this reconsideration proceeds.
