It's been about 8 months now since my dad passed, and I'm still struggling to really deal with his absence. I've become much closer to my younger brother, but in some manner, that's made it even harder to feel his loss; almost like I'm closer to Dad now than before.

Exactly. Never ascribe to malice that which can be adequately explained by incompetence.

Or, in the case of the Trump regime, incompetence *and* malice.

I rarely post fundraisers that aren't for St Jude or a friend's charity drive, but I know someone in need.
I've volunteered alongside Joan and she's always seemed a caring person who never wants to be the person asking for help, but she needs it now.
Please, help if you can.

Resistence is NOT futile
Marriott’s CEO said it straight: “We welcome all… we create opportunities for all… that’s who we are as a company.”

He went back to his hotel to find 40K emails from Marriott associates worldwide saying “thank you.”

Plenty of CEOs talk. Capuano showed up.

Marriott still has my business.

A few weeks before the election, Kamala Harris announced a plan that wiped medical debt off credit reports. After a whole four years of Joe Biden trying to forgive every student loan he could.

Because of the people who didn't vote for her, the loan payments are due and going on your credit report.

I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F.

18F was an elite federal software shop. We made gov't websites work better, more efficiently for the American people. We saved taxpayers from getting screwed over by contractors. And were fired for it.

We made this website to tell our story:

You might not see it in the mainstream media, but over 10,000 people protested today at Tesla showrooms across the country, another 10,000+ rallied in support of national parks, and more than 1,000 gathered in Vermont to protest Vance’s visit.

When did firing FBI agents, IRS agents, park rangers, scientists, and air traffic controllers becoming a better idea than simply taxing billionaires their fair share? 🤔

Look at this leader. Lift her up.
Colorado's Rep Brittany Pettersen (D) flew cross-country with her one-month-old to vote against the GOP budget tonight. Dems ended up one vote short. Pettersen was part of an unsuccessful bipartisan push to allow new mothers to vote remotely. #copolitics

There is a lot of good info here, but Hannah parry misses a few important points and accepts some dodgy explanations as accurate and/or good faith.
"Programmatic level" means they'd have elevated access, which still includes the ability to access private tax info.

Stephen Miller: DOGE staff will access IRS data on 'programmatic level'
Democratic lawmakers are fighting DOGE's plans to access IRS data over fears it could be used to politically target Americans.

Analysis: Supreme Court’s Efforts to Gut the Voting Rights Act Have Been Quite Bad For Voting Rights
Some advocates are skittish about even trying to appeal their losses, because they don’t want to risk making the status quo any worse.

I’d like to highlight your story and also see if there are folks in your community that can provide help, if you’re in need.

We’ve got to take care of each other.

The fact that Wurman and Barnett feel like a blog post is necessary to clarify their bombshell op-ed is fundamentally what’s wrong with law office history. You shouldn’t muddle through it. reason.com/volokh/2025/...

When you dump an entire agency into a "wood chipper" — as Musk boastfully did two weeks ago (see his tweet at x.com/elonmusk/sta...) — this is the kind of tragedy that can result.

Many more tragedies will come to light. This is the core and legacy of the Trump-Musk administration: pure destruction.

Reporter: Why do you want to be chairman of Kennedy Center board?

Trump: Some of the shows were terrible. They were a disgrace.

Reporter: Have you seen any shows there?

Trump: No, I didn’t go.
