As I understand it, the downturn of the UK and the US began during the Thatcher/Reagan era. How ignorant we were back then. The world envied your health system and American opportunity. Then greed found a way to destroy the best of us both. We must turn that trend around.

So many of the British Invasion bands of the 60s and 70s were only able to exist because half of them were on the dole when they were starting out. Without 60s era social security benefits there'd be no Beatles.
