Fatphobia goes hand in hand with transphobia and is rampant even in otherwise progressive spaces because it makes people feel a sense of control to police their own and other people's bodies. It is social poison and we will never eliminate transphobia without eliminating anti-fatness.

Fatphobia goes hand in hand with transphobia and is rampant even in otherwise progressive spaces because it makes people feel a sense of control to police their own and other people's bodies. It is social poison and we will never eliminate transphobia without eliminating anti-fatness.

I properly discovered power metal recently and I love how many bands have overarching narratives that basically amount to “we are holding metal church and this is our sermon” or “we are warriors who have been called to use metal to defeat the Spider Regent who has captured the stars”

This is at least the fourth story I've seen of an author having to exchange multiple emails (over 20) with this publisher to get the contract language to not be rights grabby and it's one of three where the writer walked away.

Not to be the fun police but I do hope people know that Arc Raiders does use generative AI for voice acting, and by supporting the game you're letting higher-ups know that this is an okay practice.

the funniest part is that in a normal government, this would be a bog standard, easy compromise for republicans, who want the subsidies extended, too, but they're all terrified of the elderly tariff otaku, and johnson and thune are both extremely weak leaders in thrall to their most insane members
schumer offering up an extremely reasonable and popular compromise only for senate republicans to answer "eat shit" while johnson puts the house on paid vacation for another week while critical supports start failing and fed workers run out of reserves is politics. this is how politics work.
