$50k per year?!?! For valuable nationwide public health data!? It's a bargain, and scrapping it is a bad decision.
Now that it's public: RIP FluTracking, which I understand only cost $50k per year to administer, yet provided incredibly valuable and irreplaceable information on levels of influenza-like-illness.
What an utterly dim decision.

I stupidly clicked a link to this bullshit misinformation from my browser feed, and now I'm being fed more of these awful articles, which prey on vulnerable people with false promises, fake quotes, and lies. 😡😡

Off to share some media literacy lessons with my daughter!

Our neighbours are doing works on their driveway/yard and this morning they decided to kick off at 5:15am. Someone yelled at them and they quieted for a bit, but I was wide awake already. Hmmph.

My homework for a leadership thing is watching a TED talk about cultural change and loss and the benefits of protecting diversity.

Yet the very same leadership thing has the fingerprints of AI, a diversity killer that creates endless sameness, alllll over it.

Remember how just a few years ago during the worst of the pandemic when we saw how the govt can actually do big things and saw that our collective health & well-being are intertwined, and then corporations got mad that they lost a modicum of power and helped fund a backlash of amnesia and fascism?

We sold a house this year and made a larger than expected gain (though still modest, really). It felt like a weird loophole to receive it tax free when we pay tax on all other income... CGTs are normal and Aotearoa should introduce one as part of a broader move to make our tax system more equitable!

The Luxon Govt’s bonkers plan to build 17 Big New Roads that we don’t really need will cost us at least $44 billion.

That’s enough to rebuild Dunedin Hospital 23 times over or to massively improve public transport and cycle infrastructure in all our cities. #nzpol

This government wank on about fiscal responsibility in local government at the very same time as they're doing shit like this 🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻
National Party spending ~$4 billion on a Wellington tunnel so they can get to the airport faster. Meanwhile they cancelled ferries & two new ports for the North-South link which would have cost half of that.

Consultant fees to date: $700m #nzpol #kiwi
