This is why we have independent reading time in class, and book talks/visit the library. Yes we analyze texts together but I want to give time to emphasize that reading is something where you can choose what you like and have fun!
Reading Rainbow emphasis is encouraging kids to read. The focus is not on teaching them to read. The mission is reading should be fun!

I think fundamentally, the ability to care about the rights of a small and vulnerable minority (of whom you might know no members) is an important sign of whether you are committed to human rights out of principle, or out of mere convenience.

I would ask you to consider that buying a book by trans creators about trans characters sends a more powerful message about what a publisher should care about and spend their money on than not buying one.
Any advice for us who want to continue to support trans creators, but am extremely disappointed with DC Comics due to recent events™️?
