Everything running very smoothly at Dover for the ferry check-in despite dire warnings of chaos resulting from the Chunnel snafu. Plus the fog has lifted and the sun is out, should be a nice crossing.

Experimenting with driving directions in Arabic. Some of the directions seem very long winded. I’m not sure how this is going to play out on the motorway when I go whistling past a junction at 70 mph because Sayeeda started telling me to take the exit five minutes ago and is still talking.

The geniuses at the driving agency I work for have suddenly updated their app to provide a notification when I get a new message. I’ve got 15 notifications going back more than a year. Oh and their AI thing has started coughing up routes again, ‘tis a Christmas miracle!

Discovering a little language learning tip for using apps like Duolingo, Mondly, etc: don’t repeat the phrase you hear immediately. Give it at least five seconds then say it out loud. That way you actually have to think about forming the sentence rather than mindlessly reproducing noises.
