Okay. The expanded World Cup format is great. I regret ever questioning it.

Not gonna lie. This might be my best timeline serendipity.

It’s so weird to me that there are so many people who think that Minneapolis is a great city that’s only getting better and is definitely better than it was a decade ago who also find it unfathomable that half the city is thinking the two-term mayor is doing a fine job.

Been catching up on Shrinking and it is crazy how little attention Ted McGinley is when Derek is consistently the best part of the show.

I'm very curious why the Fox broadcast shows Kiké (Enrique) Hernandez as "K. Hernandez" while the Canadian broadcast shows "E. Hernandez."

It is Halloween! This is bullshit.

Does anybody know if it's every snowed on Halloween in Minnesota before?

There’s long been a trope that it’s hard for Minneapolis newcomers to make friends with native Minneapolitans because the natives will never truly consider you to be “One of us” but I never expected the mayor’s PAC to send us a flyer just straight up telling us, “You don’t belong here.”

All right. I’m tapping out. It’s past midnight and I got a sick kid I’m going to have to look after in the morning. Best of luck to the Blue Jays or at least something interesting happening.

You start to run out of things to say about Shohei Ohtani.

I feel like this violates Chekhov's rule of trailers: If you say you're going to give a Rhea Seehorn a tank, I need to see Rhea Seehorn driving a tank.

I’ve been vaguely rooting for the Mariners but, I have to admit, there’s nothing quite like seeing a huge, go-ahead homer hit by the home team late in a game seven.

I don’t know why I decided to look this up, but if Barack Obama had never become president and had just stayed in the Senate for the last sixteen years, he still would not be in the top half of the oldest US senators. There are 57 senators older than he is.

Okay. I’m transitioning to the couch because I have to work in the morning and there’s a decent chance I fall asleep before this thing is over.

This dude, headed to the turf, is six seconds from scoring the game-winning touchdown.
Look at this body position, Trevor Lawrence ate shit as hard as you could, he’s a hippo in wool socks on a waxed floor, he hit the turf going 300 miles per hour

Still always bugs me when the Childs' Britishisms slip into Jack Reacher's dialogue.

Lot of people making anime or foreign film jokes, but 7 of last year's 10 highest-grossing live-action films and 7 of the 10 Best Picture nominees were filmed outside the US. This is either going to tank the film industry or turn us into China where movies film one token scene in the US to win favor
Trump: "I will be imposing a 100% Tariff on any and all movies that are made outside of the United States."

“Why should Pennsylvania, founded by the English, become a colony of Aliens, who will shortly be so numerous as to Germanize us instead of our Anglifying them, and will never adapt our language or customs, any more than they can acquire our complexion.”

It is bonkers how many of Chotiner’s “gotchas” are just some version of his interviewee saying something a little bit off and Chotiner saying, “What do you mean by that?”
He spoke to my journalism class when I was at Macalister and laid out his exact strategy for “owning” interviews and it was essentially “read before and listen during.”
Chotiner just interviews people and is relatively smart and does his homework.

This is basically beyond 95% of journalists.

Kind of tuned out when Ferris State slowed things down, but they just put up 28 points in less than six minutes to go up 70-0 just before the end of the third quarter. The last three Rio Grande drives have ended in:

Pick Six
Blocked FG returned for a touchdown
Punter tackled at his own 2

My daughter fell asleep on the couch during our evening Bluey time but, while I was carrying her to bed, she woke up just long enough to whisper a special message just for me: “Daddy, this morning, in the lunchroom, I saw someone barf.”

Good night, kiddo.

LOL. That’s the kind of pitch I hit in MLB The Show. Just slam the control stick up and hit square.
