Evidently the owner of one major league team can buy the affiliates of another club he does not own, and somehow there is no legally-problematic conflict of interest here.
The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp and Akron RubberDucks have been sold to Prospector Baseball Group.

Both Minor League clubs were previously owned by Ken Babby, who now serves as CEO of the Tampa Bay Rays under the MLB team's new ownership group.

In a proportional direct democratic system, you could narrow the applicants for the bench on any given case to those who have submitted an approach piece (detailing their current feelings in the case and their approach towards adjudicating the issue) and had it roundly supported by the citizenry.
I'm going to keep saying this in my effort to speak it into reality: Supreme Court should have at least 100 Justices with rotating panels (and maybe an en banc option). No single Justice should have so much power and they shouldn't be names everyone knows.
A court with a normal-ish conservative majority would have been tolerable. I'm not eager for court packing, impeaching justices, and other such options. But this court sticking around post-Trump is untenable. They've already torched their own legitimacy, the only question is what do we do about it.

Serious question: What is the historical precedent of record surrounding the Good Behaviour Clause for justices continuing to serve? Have the criteria ever been firmly established? If not, can we just make some up? Either way, fire the GOP justices, then let their appeal go to the liberal justices.

Democrats need to lay the groundwork for reform by attacking the villains on the Supreme Court - loudly, angrily, personally, relentlessly. And they should start now.

Every older gen claims “this generation” of teams and players don’t know “fundamentals”

Looked up some MLB league wide numbers:

2005: 3,060 errors, 48 DRS, .1 BsR (baserunning run value)

2025: 2,451 E, 427 DRS, 12.2 BsR

In 2000, there were a THOUSAND more errors than in ‘25

One side of this debate (Bonica) uses rigorous models & data to come to empirically-based conclusions, & interprets them in an unbiased manner.

The other uses the term "ninety seven bajillion" and badmouths their opposition w/o listing any supporting evidence.

You're not an expert or a scientist.

Texas’s high-A team had a doozy in 2011 (pre-bonus runner). Myrtle Beach struck out 32 Kinston batters and lost. Wouldn’t happen again even under old rules. Managers would start using position players on mound by the 13th or so.

Turns out Craig Breslow really was playing 4D chess.

That quote should be plastered all over Boston newspapers tonight.

Congrats, Red Sox.
Craig Breslow must think we’re stupid. This press conference is only going to make this worse.

Brice Matthews' Z-Con% is bad, but...

• It's 📈 since May

• His discipline is +

• His EV's are 🚀's

• He has + speed

• He eventually destroyed every MiLB level

• Rule of 👍:
- as (Power + Speed + Plate Discipline) 📈
- max sustainable swing/miss% 📈

He'll struggle initially then become a ⭐️

I have thought pretty hard on how to respond to this as one of the “creatives” whose work is being “scraped” here. Plain and simple: this is theft of very hard work that only a handful of people are qualified to do, stripped of all relevant context. It is not a “cool” or “fun” use of AI.

Brennen Davis has been one of the hottest hitters in MiLB the last couple weeks at Scranton.

But he just went for a line drive, leaped & made am amazing catch... only to catch a spike in the wall & fall.

He walked off under his own power GINGERLY.

Might be the same left ankle he broke in Iowa.

The #Rockies became the first team in MLB history to lose 50 games before winning 10. Unless you count the Union Association's lone season.

There, the 1884 Kansas City Cowboys went a staggering 8-57 before finishing the season on a 8-6 run.

Should it count? Some background in this thread:
