BREAKING: The New York Mets have acquired All-Star right-hander Freddy Peralta in a trade with the Milwaukee Brewers, sources tell ESPN. Deal is done. Top prospects Jett Williams and Brandon Sproat are headed to Milwaukee. One more big league pitcher will head to the Mets.

As @cohen489.bsky.social wrote so eloquently, elected officials have become oblivious to what constituents want—this actually is a both sides problem.

Dems (like many of us) just wish upon a star the icy rampage goes away, so their answer… is to fund it.

When we talk cheapo owners, it’s usually those poor snuggly small markets (and Miami, which proudly boasts of record growth and the dubious honor of being most expensive)

But Reinsdorf is in chicago, owns part of an RSN, etc - yet couldn’t pay part of Robert’s $ to get, idk not Truman Pauley
@JeffPassan tweeted
Full trade, per ESPN sources:

Mets receive: CF Luis Robert Jr.

White Sox receive: IF Luisangel Acuña and RHP Truman Pauley

Super happy for IU

Even if it’s a little weird that the QB’s aunt looks younger than half the roster

Hilarious and weird Rasputin shit from Beane / Bills ownership

Best WR was Cooks, who was cut by the Saints, top WR pick Coleman a bust, Kincaid disappointing, weak DL and 31 yr old Tre White CB1

If I’m a Bills fan I’m disappointed in the sloppiness but also incensed we didn’t get a dpi call on Cooks in the EZ but White gets called for an almost identical play later
(Also Cooks could’ve been called down on the OT Int)

Listening to the division preview and definitely agree with @rotopat.bsky.social that a hundred tiny Harbaugh decisions sank them as Lamar posted a 57.4% comp%, 40% succ% and sub 76 rating

Hey @mikepetriello.bsky.social, the Pull AIR% metric is useful shorthand.

But a suggestion: separate/break put pop ups. If I’m wondering whether a player gets it in the air to his pull side, I’m interested in flies and liners. Popups obscure the measurement; I still have to search for pulled FB/LD%

“go along with Greenland” means nothing

The 8-letter missing word is “takeover” tho “invasion” also fits
EISEN: The president just said he might put tariffs on countries that don't go along with Greenland. Is that going to happen?

JAMIESON GREER: Presidents for decades have always used sanctions authorities to address geopolitical matters

Way more pissed that my team’s owner low balled his homegrown 2x b2b CY winner and will probably trade him b/c he’s not willing to get in the ballpark of the player’s value
I think there are probably more factors at play than just money when it comes to the Dodgers but they also wield money in a way that it *could* be the only factor (complimentary) and also as a fan of the team...ya just gotta let people hate. they're the bad guys of the league and it's understandable

One of the worst parts about practicing or even observing our litigation system is the way higher courts dodge the merits in cases where regulatory or lower courts clearly don’t have enough guidance—or are being abused by the executive

seen some Bregman spike picks post signing—including one at 39(??)

Will have a longer article about this, but Breggy resembles no one so much as Arenado—low K%, pull/lift for power.

Arenado actually hit balls in the air harder—then fell off in ‘23, his age 32 season.

Bregman turns 32 on Mar. 30
