Adam ruins everything.
They said "free speech" and "academic freedom" but never believed in either and now in texas you need a permission slip to mention race in class and they're fine with it. Might not have worked if people with large platforms weren't furious about marginal increases of black people in their offices

Jeffrey Epstein sent a link to the white nationalist podcast The Right Stuff, whose core hosts played an active role in the 2017 “Unite the Right” rally. He did so in February 2016. Before TRS made national news, really.

Genuinely bizarre.

He’s becoming Jonathan Haidt in real time.

He may be a Good Person offline, but he is a shitty researcher online.
It’s a problem on the left, right, and center! The social relationships and incentives that they find on the internet feel just as real to them as anything they’re actually experiencing in real life, but vastly greater in number and intensity
I’ve personally known a couple of people who in 2020 were thoroughly decent, rational and agreeable but are now actual monsters online.

This is what I’ve been thinking about too.
the downside of these releases is that a bunch of the most salacious stuff is the result of anonymous tips left on a tip line and people are assuming every one of those is true. you really do need to do a bit more work than that if you care about the truth.

Indivisible walks, talks and quacks like a useful idiot for Republicans.
Republicans are flailing after being forced to defend the indefensible: Continued funding for a lawless DHS. We’re glad Democrats are finally waking up to this reality, but the bill that just passed the Senate is not a solution. 🧵
Senate passes bill to resolve shutdown clash, punting on DHS for two weeks
The House is not in Washington and plans to vote when it returns Monday. That means a government shutdown this weekend, which will have little impact if it remains brief.

“Looks like Democrats got a win despite being the minority party, how can we spin it to stay on brand??”
Democrats must hold the line now more than ever. It’s their fight to lose.

Boney M’s “Rasputin” is an example of egregious historical inaccuracy that is entirely forgivable because it’s such a banger.

From the screenshots I've seen it looks like Will Stancil is having it out with a particularly annoying anarchist, and, okay.

They are both annoying.

AT THE SAME TIME. Opsec stuff matters, right now, actually. It is not a LARP, even if folks who are being annoying are the ones advocating for it.

Sure are a lot of journalists and commentators on here who suddenly think they are experts on how internal activist comms should work, and I feel compelled to remind you that actually that is not your fucking job.

Come on, now. When have any of you EVER been deep in street organizing work?

Hopefully this framing is what cures us the ridiculously outdated single-axis politics.
Curious. What percentage of American voters would you say are to the left of Ezra Klein and Will Stancil?

I want him to organize a general strike to shut down the economy to stop Trump.

We cannot act like this motherfucker is normal. This is not normal. He needs to act outside the box like our enemies are.

Because I'm not congratulating Democrats for constantly losing. I'm not proud of failure.
