I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, residential school denialism is a loser movement: it’s anti-Indigenous content created by losers for losers who want to denigrate dead Indigenous children on the internet rather than put truth before reconciliation.

Very worrying use of the notwithstanding clause by Alberta. Horrified to see anti-trans legislation being given the green light in Alberta and also in other provinces.
Alberta isn't the first province to implement anti-trans legislation--Sask and New Brunswick also have anti-trans laws on the books--and it won't be the last. I don't have a positive takeaway to end on, but here are some links justicetrans.org/wp-content/u... www.cbrc.net/anti_trans_l... 🧵6/6

Part of what’s so frustrating about the right wing attack on “DEI” is that it cornered us into fighting for a weak framework whose Implementation was overrun by deeply morally bankrupt people

This episode of @academicaunties.com is 🔥 - @tariajadi.bsky.social and I talk about how academia is an MLM, the importance of mentors + community, the sweet freedom that comes with leaving, and why being an academic is JUST A JOB. www.academicaunties.com/episodes/aca...
Academia is an MLM
In academia you are constantly making compromises. In my time, there have been numerous instances when I’ve found myself having to make compromise...

It's heartbreaking what's happening in Alberta and trans youth. To invoke the notwithstanding clause makes it appalling - this is meant to be used as a last resort! Sign this petition if you are appalled by what's happening: transactionalberta.ca #abpolitics #transyouth

I really hate it when scientists keep saying that “we need to rebuild trust in science,” because it implies that scientists are to blame for the mistrust rather than the millions of dollars of dark money that have funded political attacks on science in order to advance a far right agenda.

Can I use part of my bereavement leave and cancel work this week? (Just kidding- or am I?) Yes, it was a good game, and yes, I'm proud of the Blue Jays but that loss is so hard to take. Clearly I need to go through all the stages of grief first, oof. #worldseries #bluejays

As we start the 9th inning, no matter what happens (and although I obviously want the #bluejays to win), this is just a damn good game, and a damn good series. THIS is how baseball should be played.
