I really think putting staggeringly dumb rich people who are also total jerks in charge of everything was a bad call.

Yes it's a red wine and blazing fire kind of night.
Any small mercies are appreciated in a gloomy November.

@tomflood.bsky.social mention of the brilliance of The Cowboy Junkies immediately rocketed me back to the late 80'/early 90s when I was also a huge fan of Sara Craig.

I have established an official "counter glass" for myself at our house. It stays in a particular spot on the counter and I use it for several days at a stretch. So far, my germ recycling has only made me stronger.
My family’s daily mantra:

We will use as many glasses, cups, mugs and bottles as humanly possible all day long.

It's critically important that communities make distinctions between e-bikes and e-motos when implementing regulations, and that starts with a solid definition of an e-moto. Lumping both into the same regulatory bucket will hinder the expansion of e-bikes as a powerful mobility tool.

Pro tip to parents of young kids: don’t waste your money on fancy vacations, you could literally go to the depths of hell and as long as they have a pool that’s open from 6am-9pm, the kids will be thrilled

Have you heard of “The Populist Playbook?”

A few years ago, I posted what I still consider one of my most important messages.

It was about “The Populist Playbook” that I’ve watched play out often over my 33+ years of city planning.

Since then, it’s only gotten worse.

Do the steps sound familiar?

That drivers are out here running stop signs and red lights while looking at the phones they’re holding in front of their faces and this isn’t treated like a crisis, but Halifax council spent the summer debating the cost of bike lanes as though that is… it’s fucking bananas.

Pierre Poilievre says he wants to “restore merit.” He needed to be handed arguably the safest, most impossible to lose conservative seat in all of Canada after losing his own seat.

Seems like the opposite of merit. #Poilievre

(oh, and he still refuses to complete a check for a security clearance)

Love the Jays manager & players in the interviews after that tough ending. Zero negativity, page immediately turned, confident and joyous even about playing a huge Game 7 at home.

Plan to leave your car at home on Halloween Night (this Friday night) between 5.00 pm and 9.00 pm, and if you do need to drive, take it slowly and carefully to help keep children safe on the most dangerous night of the year for child pedestrians.
