Got turned down on a piece about ICE in Chicago for an international news org because they believed I couldn’t be objective about my neighbors getting kidnapped. And well, guilty as charged I guess.

The only reason we know anything about the Epstein files is because the survivors refused to give up.

This release is about the the bravery & tenacity of the survivors who continue to fight for justice in a system seeking to crush, silence, and erase them.

RE starbucks picket line--the relevant detail is "picket line, do not cross." Pass that along. Proclaiming that you are in no danger of doing so because you are too aesthetically pure to let Starbucks coffee pass your lips is...unhelpful and does not give the impression you perhaps imagine it does.

Baltimore, I can't take credit for this, but this is a good acronym for the information you want to add if you want reports of ICE agents to be actionable or usable instead of unintentionally spreading panic:

Activity
Location
Uniforms
Time
Equipment

The root of a lot of this is hatred of children. Our society wants to punish and enslave children. That’s why Miss Rachel is so fucking refreshing, because she’s modeling that children should be loved, respected, centered, and empowered.

Another Reuters exclusive

The Biden administration acquired evidence in the last months of its term that senior officials in the Israeli government were openly discussing the ongoing use of Palestinians as human shields by the IDF in Gaza. They sat on the evidence.

I think a lot about what voir dire looked like for this — like, “Have you ever participated in Hoagiefest?”

This is far worse than anyone expected.

Trump's HUD plan would cut *two-thirds* of permanent housing and push as many as 170,000 formerly homeless people back onto the street—redirecting funds to work mandates, forced treatment, and encampment sweeps.

All as mass internment camps are being built.

Meanwhile whorephobic orgs targeting sex workers have tried desperately to capture the discourse, they want to talk about rape culture in a way that implies the internet has to be age verified, all your favorite games and books have to be banned, and sex workers should be pushed to the margins
The idea that sexual abuse is part of “private” life instead of a public crisis has done incalculable damage. Anti-rape activists have to fight to even make it possible to expose sexual abuse as a wrongdoing in public without being silenced and undermined. That fight is far from won

Real talk, a few years ago I was deep into plotting a move to Germany, which went out the window when I got into a relationship that ended awhile back 🫠
"In 2025, 40% of women aged 15 to 44 say they would move abroad permanently if they had the opportunity. The current figure is four times higher than the 10% who shared this desire in 2014, when it was generally in line with other age and gender groups."
