Happy Harold Ramis Day!

First declared in 2024 by the city of Chicago, the February 2nd celebration honors the writer, director, and actor's life and career, which included Ghostbusters, Groundhog Day, Caddyshack, and other comedy classics.

When anyone from SCTV dies it’s like 30 people have died. Every character they created was as alive as anyone else you’ve ever met.

Decent birthday haul today. The Real Ghostbusters a Visual History is a thing of beauty, maybe turning 46 isn't so bad after all.

Finished a second viewing of Mel Brooks’ 99 Year Old Man and now moving onto Best in Show and… already feel a lump in my throat.

The Catherine O'Hara news is terrible. Like so many, I saw her first on SCTV and she was GREAT. The gift she gave us all with Moira in Schitt's Creek was an amazing cap on a brilliant career. 💔 🇨🇦

ICYDK, publishing is in a decline. Many authors who have had dependable contracts in the past are now scrambling to make ends meet and seeing lower advances and fewer sales than ever. If you see lots of book publicity posts, it's because we're scared and trying to keep our jobs during The Horrors.

I am slowly making my way through The Real Ghostbusters: A Visual History and just savoring every page.

The people involved with the creation of that show saw and PERFECTLY realized the potential of Ghostbusters as an ongoing series.

And somehow nobody else has ever come close.

I love that they're putting Star Trek: Khan onto the official YouTube channel. Super easy to listen to the premiere chapter! (Naveen and Wrenn CRUSH it. I was lucky enough to be in the booth for their recording sessions and seriously, chills. So good.) youtu.be/UDOn6BBis_8?...

I took a media ethics class from him about the time Burger King was using “Happy Together” in all of their commercials… during pauses in his lecture, he’d apologize saying he was distracted collecting another royalty check. Such a fun professor with an unbelievable career.
RIP Mark Volman, founding member of The Turtles and one half of Flo & Eddie (pictured here - Mark is on the left, Howard Kaylan on the right). I was fortunate enough to do some of my very first live performances as an opening act for Flo & Eddie in 1983 at the Bottom Line in NYC.
