🇬🇧 The utter irrelevance of Anas Sarwar 🇬🇧

After his greetin tub-thumping moment, Starmer gave Sarwar a wee smile and a pat on the heid

Then everyone moved on as nothing happened, because nothing of relevance did happen

Yes it has changed my relationship to Britishness. It has changed a grudging acceptance of English control into shame at the label British. I now insist on Welsh if Britishness is the issue, or half-welsh half-Irish if being specific. Never British.

Liz Truss’s collapse was steeper, but Keir Starmer’s collapse is deeper.

Starmer is more unpopular than Liz Truss, Andrew Mountbatten Windsor and Vladimir Putin, and much more unpopular than Donald Trump.
He is the most unpopular UK PM since records began.

Good thread. British means little other than a synonym for English. As such Scots or Welsh culture is referenced but not given equal status. WM is an English dominated construction and reflects the needs wants and issues of England.

Fuckin'ell I knew Brexit brought about some of the worst flagshagging I've ever seen but even by "Great British Rail" and "Blue Passports" standards, the replacement for the "European Health Insurance Card" is a bit much.

It's just impressively hideous. Even BNP voters would say "it's a bit much"

Yes, ok, but it's mostly a load of rubbish, not facing up to the fact that almost all of the gains would come from rejoining either the Single Market, the Customs Union, or both. Not being open about this is just perpetuating the untruths and cakeism of the whole Brexit movement.

Tourists are tourists. People who move to live somewhere are emigrants/immigrants (never ex-pats).
