This is fundamentally why I stopped playing magic on any meaningful scale. I still have my 32 EDH decks as my trophy of my decade invested, but its so hard to not feel like the bad guy when I ask my friends to not ruin my fun by playing UB cards in our EDH games
UB is also not something you can opt out of. I can choose not to put any UB cards into my decks, artificially gimping myself that way. However, I cannot expect my opponents to do the same. And blocking a Spider-Man equiped with Cloud's Buster Sword just fucks with my suspension of disbelief.

I think that this is also why we're seeing a drop in "right wing extremist violence" being reported this year. Its not counted as terrorism by the state if it's state sanctioned action, even if it's exactly the same
One thing that comes through awfully clearly in these ICE videos is how many of these goons gravitated toward the job because being able to assault people with impunity is a big thrill for them.

I feel like people deflecting from Trump's deportations to other countries deporting people overstaying their visas is the same argument as deflecting from US Chattel Slavery by saying "Every country in history has had slaves" Sure we use the same word, but the scale and cruelty is uniquely American
