Kind of a weird comparison since Hawaii was illegally annexed by the US from the Hawaiian Kingdom. It also has a long history with Chinese immigration and Sun Yat Sen, a revolutionist who helped overthrow the Qing dynasty. Like most of the pushback would be from the State gov and the military
