Accurate and thorough representation of prior and related work is one of the cornerstones of good research.

It is shocking to me that so many published NeurIPS papers, even from top institutions, have fabricated references.

I recommend reading the original report: gptzero.me/news/neurips/

Seeing all this insanity happening in the US, I think this will be another year where I will actively avoid conference travels to the US.

Greenland PM Jens-Frederik Nielsen:

"If we have to choose between the US & Denmark here and now, we choose Denmark. We choose NATO. We choose the Kingdom of Denmark. We choose the EU."

"Greenland does not want to be owned by the US. Greenland does not want to be governed by the US" he later added.

Seems like a bunch of people are joining BlueSky recently after the whole X situation, so maybe it's worth highlighting this again. Also, if you feel like you should be on this list, send me a message!
I made a starter pack for Bayesian ML and stats (mostly to see how this starter pack business works).

Let me know whom I missed!

Finally proceeded to deactivate+delete my Twitter account. I had kept it open but inactive as an archive of sort, frozen and unused, but given what X+Grok have become and now enable *by design*, it has become impossible to justify even that.

Crazy! At this point, X and Grok are definitely primarily accelerants of misogyny and propaganda. Shocking but maybe not too surprising considering who owns both.
One example of how Grok is being used to target women. Swedish Deputy Prime Minister Ebba Busch being sexualised, degraded, and humiliated step-by-step by Grok. All the images accurately reflect the prompts provided.

Just saw a person walking around with a “don’t give Islam a chance” sweater (written in German). I think that’s the first time I see Islamophobia that clearly on daylight. Shocking.

For context, I don’t subscribe to any religion, but actively condemning people because of their beliefs is wrong.
