I’m sharing a Palestinian account every day and today is Shereen. Shereen and her husband (a house painter) fled their home early in the war thinking it would only be for 2 days. She lost everything as well as many family members. Her main concern is getting her son, Ahmed, 4 into a kindergarten.

Calling the Democrats “cowards” suggests that they're scared to do what's right when they show no fervent interest in being an opposition. They're largely colluders, not cowards. Many want their base to think they're cowards to maintain investment in the idea that they can be pushed to do better.

Will be calling my state government and local city leaders tomorrow to see what we're putting in place for those about to lose healthcare or accrue medical debt. We have to work outside the federal government in our local communities to keep people alive. Parallel & community systems of care.

I have been following national Congressional politics since I was a teenager in Obama I. This is how it always works. Regardless of their actual seat totals, The Democrats "somehow" always have just enough moderates (not too many or too little) that they concede to the GOP on every major issue.

If your position is that Democrats have no choice but to agree, than you are impliedly admitting the Democrats are no longer an opposition party because the cost of opposition is too high, and we are effectively a one party fascist state.
