200 years ago, suicides faced the final indignity of crossroads burial. I did what I could to piece together the life of one of these people. Her name was Elizabeth James. She died at the age of 22 and was buried in what is now the centre of Peterborough.

Starmer has called increasing net migration from 250k to 720k (with a 900k peak), 2019-24 a deliberate post-Brexit experiment in open borders.
But the chaos in the asylum system is the direct result of a failed experiment with a closed borders policy to ban asylum claims, but which was unworkable
