VERY funny that Labour are being pointlessly cruel and haemorrhaging support from their base and yet none of what they're offering is ever going to be enough for the people whose approval they're seeking, WHO could have predicted it

Even in Labour vs Reform contests, where the nature of swing means Labour to Reform defections count double, the electoral strength/cost of losses to LDs and Grns is now ~66% higher than that of losses to Reform.

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

Agree people don’t know what councils do etc. But I also think the public is reasonable enough to question why the local area looks dirty/declining etc while council tax bills have gone up and up and up and up and up. Politically it’s therefore currently ripe for undeliverable promises

The year is 2038. Texas has just completed its third nuclear strike against Oklahoma. In Washington, Elon Musk's Legion Of Children is engaged in a last stand in the DOGE basement.

In London, the Conservatives warn that an agreement to sell cheese to France is putting at risk a US trade deal.

This idea that the Nazis moved Jews from places where they were protected by the law to places where they could be persecuted/murdered is mostly false.

The first 1.2 million victims were killed in the "Holocaust by Bullets": shot in or very near to where they lived in e Europe. No trains or camps.
2/4. The entire practice of the Holocaust of the Jews involved zones of statelessness. It is easier to move people away from law than it is to remove law from people. Almost all of the killing took place in artificially created stateless zones.

I keep thinking about my driver and interpreter when I observed the 2012 Ukrainian election, and all the wonderful polling staff I met. These are real people with hopes and dreams and lives of their own and the world's most powerful man would rather sell US citizenship to oligarchs than help.

And once again, a pollster has leader ratings that give Ed Davey the best score... and the text of the social media message doesn't mention it.
For the first time, Nigel Farage is ahead of Keir Starmer by more than the margin of error in our favourability polling

Nigel Farage
Favourable: 30% (+1 from 16-17 Jan)
Unfavourable: 60% (=)

Keir Starmer
Favourable: 26% (-2)
Unfavourable: 66% (+3)

The Pinterest Board calling for Starmer to resign has been bookmarked no fewer than 147 times, and two separate creators have used it as a template to crochet a throw pillow.

Under these circumstances, how long can the Prime Minister possibly cling to a position so obviously untenable?
