Yeah it's abundantly clear that all of these proposals have barely been thought through

Today's #Chemsky gripe: I've just read a recent paper, closely related to one I was on last year, published in the same journal and I have not been cited... 😡😡

Number 10 siding with/accepting McSweeny's hatchet job of Sue Gray is a defining moment in the failure of Starmer's government

Let's follow in the footsteps of Manchester and Liverpool and make our public transport work for the public!
Bus franchising is an essential step to reform our bus service into one that works for Bristolians.

With a new law cutting red tape, WECA should seize this opportunity to fix our buses and start the process to franchise the service immediately.

Did they notice Plaid got more votes than Labour & Reform combined?
YOUR SUPPORT WENT TO PLAID - THE LEFT OF CENTRE OPTION - YOU ABSOLUTE DING DONGS BECAUSE YOU’RE NOT STANDING UP *AGAINST* FARAGE. You’ve just been handed proof you have more to lose from losing your base than to gain from pursuing Reform voters!!

Yeah the poll is a joke but so is FPTP.
Imagine being the official opposition on the back of 12% of the vote...

Ming Campbell was a dedicated public servant and a true Liberal giant.

His principled leadership opposing the Iraq War was a mark of his morality, courage and wisdom.

But more than that, he was an incredibly warm and caring friend and colleague.

We will miss him terribly.

Literally just been to London at the invitation of the literal fucking King.

Fuck Trump. Fuck the USA.
Trump to the UN: "I have to say, I look at London where you have a terrible mayor -- terrible terrible mayor -- and it's been so changed, so changed. Now they want to go to Sharia Law ... both their immigration and their suicidal energy ideas will be the death of Western Europe."

It just straightforwardly *insane* how much political chatter in the United Kingdom is about the next general election, an event that is a long way in the future, and how basically none of it is about 'uh, this policy agenda doesn't look adequate to the scale of the inherited problem'.

Young men more likely to vote Green than Reform. Young men second most progressive group of any demographic. Combined right-wing vote barely bigger than Green vote alone for young men

I know Labour has precendent for governing like this in the 1960s but really who had the way Starmer is governing actually in mind when they voted Labour in 2024. One of the reasons this is so depressing is nobody wanted this, we rejected it in 2024, and got it anyway
