I went to a Catholic funeral mass last week after not going to church for many years and they at some point changed words here and there. Changes so minor and seemingly pointless that I have to assume they were intended to get precisely this reaction out of people like me.

Update: he is now asking for a "speed thermometer" for his bike.
My son has been asking for a mini record player and I just learned that what he means is a CD player.

The President of the United States just called for Democratic members of Congress to be executed. "HANG THEM", he posted.

If you're a person of influence in this country and you haven't picked a side, maybe now would be the time to pick a fucking side.

If the President can impose his own taxes and use the proceeds to spend on his own projects, all without Congress, we have a dictatorship not a constitutional republic.
BREAKING: Deputy White House Chief of Staff James Blair said the administration is eyeing ways to give millions of Americans $2,000 dividend checks from tariff revenue without congressional approval, per Bloomberg.

There are maybe three or four Senators I trust right now. As far as I'm concerned, everyone else was in on this plan to throw the fight until I see them calling for Schumer's ouster.
We just launched the biggest primary program in Indivisible’s history. Help us (literally) send Schumer and the surrender caucus a message. open.substack.com/pub/ezralevi...
Democratic leaders failed us again. Time to get some new leaders.

Called the office of my Senator, @chrismurphyct.bsky.social, to thank him for his strong opposition to the terrible deal struck by Senate Democrats yesterday, and to urge him to call publicly for the replacement of @schumer.senate.gov as Minority Leader.

The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.

Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)
King (2030)

If Senate Dems cave in exchange for nothing, they're snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Any good will they've built up? Gone. Surefire midterm blue wave? Gone.
John Fetterman, Angus King, Maggie Hassan, Dick Durbin, Jon Ossoff, Jeanne Shaheen, Kirsten Gillibrand, Catherine Cortez Masto, Mark Warner, Cory Booker, and of course Chuck Schumer. Maybe others not top of mind. Not all responsible will publicly vote for the cave - that's not how this works.

Grateful to have a friend who is an expert in how the Supreme Court works to help me understand this sort of thing.

PS - If you live in NY-17, vote for him to take on Mike Lawler.
Yes the Roberts majority has destroyed SCOTUS’s legitimacy, yes Trump shoulda never gone to SCOTUS asking to starve people, but in the world we live in KBJ did the best she could to control the process and let CA1 put its reasoning on the record before her colleagues disregard it without explanation
KBJ threaded the needle thanks to CA1’s unfinished business.

-if she denied the admin stay, the full SCOTUS woulda stepped in to override her.
-if she immediately referred the case to the full Court, they coulda dragged feet.
-instead she boxed them in to act quickly once she does refer the case.
