Dear cartoonists: can someone do Musk leading Trump around by the nose?

"Repeat after me: there was no 'landslide'. There was no 'blowout'. There was no 'sweeping' mandate given to Trump by the electorate. The numbers don’t lie."

My new Guardian op-ed on the new GOP election lie - and why it's important to rebut it! I brought (lots of) receipts:
Donald Trump didn’t win by a historic landslide. It’s time to nip that lie in the bud | Mehdi Hasan
In 2024, we have a new post-election lie – Trump didn’t just win, Republicans say, but he won big. He won a landslide. That’s false

220-215. 53-47. 48.43%-49.91%.

No landslide. No realignment. Just an election.

What landslide? Trump will win by 1.5% points, one of the most narrow margins in history.

"Trump won the crucial blue wall states... by 231,000 votes? So if just 116,000 voters across those three swing states – or 0.7% of the total – had switched from Trump to Harris, it is the vice-president who would have won the electoral college … and the presidency" - me for the Guardian:

The way I’d put it is…a not insignificant portion of the internet—and the world, I guess—defines themselves not by the things they do and love, but their opposition to others. When you take that away, they’re bereft of purpose.
What prompts someone to create an account like that? Don’t they have a life to live or something?

The other exploding area of dark money in politics is the crypto lobby.

They have dumped insane sums in elections in both parties (Dem primaries + GOP general elections).

It’s pretty bad
It's called cryptocurrency, but new FDIC data shows that most Americans don't use it as currency—they mainly hold on to it for price gains, not for transfers or purchases.

There's always room for another piece about how Democrats have to understand the supposed complexities of the Trump voter's feelings, never any about how MAGA needs to settle down and engage with reality.

I just joined the bluer skies and I was going to migrate my follower list but then decided I wanted a clean start.

At first I was only going to follow people smarter than me. After lurking for a week I realized pretty much everyone is smarter than me.

So here’s a cat meme.
