If Keir Starmer has disappeared up Trump's arse,
he'll find that Anthony Albanese crawled up there first.

Notable that British journalists are at least trying to do what Australian mainstream hacks rarely do:
challenge their PM about the US 'relationship'. #auspol
Keir Starmer disappeared up Donald Trump's arse.

And he has nothing to show for it.

It’s one thing for a social group to think themselves a ‘chosen people’ for religious or cultural reasons. But to enshrine a special status in Australian law is offensive to everyone else, and just plain weird.

Luckily for everyone who cares @psychopete.bsky.social has compiled a long list of corps to boycott to help with this
This should be a lesson for Americans, apparently everyone (vast majority) is too scared to be uncomfortable at minimum.

Like stop feeding the rich yall? Stop buying stuff you dont require to survive. Its a silent form of resistance but it works.

Absolute must-read. Cracking piece.

‘Authoritarianism is rising all around us. It does not arrive with a flourish of trumpets or the march of boots; often, it arrives in the quiet room where a festival board decides which ideas are “safe” and which must be scrubbed from the record.’

Frydenberg exploiting a mass shooting to resuscitate his political career is a low act.

Sadly, I don’t expect any better of Frydenberg, a follower of the Howard method.

Don’t ever elect this prick again.

People cite this stuff as "NIMBY" but - it's not their backyard or even close to it? If anything this is an example of a perfectly reasonable town not caring about a perfectly fine battery project built on shitty land - the real problem is the deeper, systemic issue of Australian society / media

I already have a counterproposal:

Russia pulls forces/proxies out of Ukraine—all of it—and removes offensive weapons from regions bordering Ukraine.

Pays for all war damage—and reconstruction.

All Russians engaged in war crimes stand trial.

And Ukraine can join any alliance it damn well pleases.

In 2022, the Athena school with only 55 students received total Government funding of over a million dollars.

There's nothing inherently wrong with climate change. It's just that the ecosystems and built environments that we depend on as life support systems aren't equipped to handle the rapid changes. So if we want to live, we should deal with climate change ASAP.

"No Labor govt since [ #TheDismissal] has dared to have a suite of policies as progressive"

The do-nothing Albanese govt presides over an increasingly REgressive status quo.

Poverty, housing stress, poorer health and educational outcomes for many. Greater wealth & privilege for the few.
One of the most damaging and enduring aspects of the Dismissal, fifty years ago today, was its poisoning of the electorate against the Whitlam government, ensuring that it would lose the subsequent election and creating fear of progressive government.
