Does he think the israeli president is to Jewish people what the pope is to Catholics?

ABC Radio talking about delays in aged care packages and forgetting to mention AUKUS.

Let's explain why the government thinks we cannot afford care for aging people.

Having driven automobiles for many decades, I propose that they should have a small yellow light in each corner that blinks when you are going to turn.

I think this would be a life changer for so many of us, as it might tell us what the person in front of us is going to do.

My dog recognises the phrase 'no one's there mate'. Sadly he thinks it means: someone's there, and you should bark some more.

Reflecting that among all this mess, we need to remember that the South Australian Premier continues to collect a paycheck while a whole lot of people already in vulnerable work won't!

This is the horror we are living in. I wonder (a) how services aus failed to educate their staff; and (b) why they recruited someone with so little interest in the recent history and very real present of social services.
The part I came close to losing it:

Drove the client with the mail they’d received from Services Australia about the compensation settlement in the Robodebt class action to a Services Australia agent, and they said, and I quote:

“What’s Robodebt?”

Elbow wondering whether it's too soon to send ground troops to (checks notes) the Caribbean Sea.

AUKUS? ANZUS? Selfie with the President?

Someone said there is no antifa.

If so, where have I been sending my dues all these years?

Anyone find their finger hovering at the top of the virtual keyboard and, having typed the word, instead of going down to the space bar, they press the word on the suggestions bar to get a space?

My one finger stumbling lunges are evolving. Next state, finger sentience. I wonder what it will type?

"It's also our duty to question: Why are institutions creating this data? Why are they using this definition? How do these categories create a specific vision of the world, and who does that vision serve?"

Important questions for all of us, esp voters and parents.

Gender — and restrictive gender roles — are core to authoritarian projects. Society uses concepts of gender to sort people. Data both reflects and imposes these social definitions.

Some notes from a speech about this last week: buttondown.com/stetdele/arc...
what's in a data gap?
The project to redefine transgender data tells us some things about authoritarianism.

Reading Pip's delightful, erudite Dictionary of Lost Words, again. And enjoying my Dad's pride and joy, the second edition of the OED.

The Sunday Courier Mail, once the newspaper of record in Queensland, now parroting the right wing view -- supporting legislation that will tear young digital communities, and separated and rural living families, apart.

Everyone (that matters) is going to remember Israel in Eurovision and the Donald Trump FIFA peace prize.

Cuz I swear, I'm going to keep reminding people for the rest of my life.

Okay so I'm a bit behind on the shot podcast.

But Bob Carr sounded a bit naive on China, the US, Australia, US bases, escalation of hostilities, Trump tariffs.

It feels so quaint to read a magazine barely a year old that speaks for anti trust progress by Biden. (Remember him?)

Tks Barry Lynn and Harper's. Such sweet memories.

Just started watching Train Dreams on Netflix and I'm wondering how they'll pull off the redemption arc given all that is happening in the us right now.

Immigrant rights, women's rights.

Maybe that's 'the fiction'. The fiction that gains are anything but illusory.

Windows is all "I can help you write that!"

With all due respect, you can't even open the window I want open when I click on that window in Windows. I'm good.
