Lefty on unceded Darumbal land in regional Qld / he/him / ally / carer / still disappointed. 🇵🇸
Ok peeps - time to fess up.

Who amongst us seems to have developed a habit in the quiet moments of saying quietly or in your head, "Your doing alright MY NAME, you're doing alright."?

I used to say 'What's next?' But I have moved to affirmations, maybe since COVID.

Seems a bit tone deaf at this time.

Asking for money while supporting Isra3l in a genocide seems a bit off to me.

I accidentally came here to look up Charles I of England. And you reminded me of your complicity.

Am I being pranked?

The banks seem to have suddenly gone into super lockdown on accounts and I keep hearing 'routine' and 'normal practice'. My dad's a/c locked printing a statement. Business account asking for a huge amount of information that we've never provided before as 'routine'.

Elbow wanting to house defence contractors in a housing crisis is 'reparations for slave holders not slaves' level late-stage capitalism.

Some bugger here put me onto The Bank of Dave on Netflix, and now my glasses have gone foggy for no apparent reason. Tks, whoever you are.

I don't get why people are getting their knickers in a twist.

That word 'Net' is carrying so much weight in the phrase Net Zero in Australia today, that nothing's going to change for climate Net Zero or otherwise.

How have we all stopped answering the phone from unknown numbers at the same time as anyone calling from an unknown number never leaves a message? 😐

Wow. Just wow. How many gambling ads do I have to watch to see a couple of episodes of a tv program on SBS?

ALP talking points...

"Australia contributes to this global supply chain because F-35s are a sovereign capability for the Australian Defence Force."

We must arm Hitler because we benefit too?

Also wondering which definition of sovereign they're using here.

How's Twitter going so far? That's about as much influence as you get over your robot army.
Oh really?! 😲

This is the correct response. And the same counts for counselling and exercise advice. Leave it to people who can 'feel' the effects.
I never use AI.

AI should not be near food ever. It can’t taste. It doesn’t understand texture.

I use 40 years of cooking & constant study & research.

Looking over from the minerals oligarchy that used to be Australia, sorry to say, you already no longer have a republic.
On a deadly serious note, the President cannot rely on external, private sources to fund spending as an end-run around Congress’ constitutional power of the purse. If he can, we no longer have a republic.

You know how often google search pinky swears that a word is on a page?

(Pinky swears = I put the word in double quotes.)

And it turns out the word was possibly in the sidebar in a previous incarnation of the page.

That's how I imagine the au is getting stuff so wrong.
What in the actual fuck? Googles AI basically hallucinated that I somehow accused my podcast host & close friend of toxic behavior & harassment - killing her channel. Keep in my, Vera and I host a podcast together regularly and are good friends and her channel is amazing. This is absolutely fucked.
Council of Geeks is over.
I only just learned myself thanks to Google’s AI summary. Thanks Google for letting me know my channel is dead. Some digging, using Google’s AI mode, revealed it’s because of the toxic feud between me and @jessiegender.bsky.social

I wouldn’t have known otherwise.

There's the difference between a real actor and a reality tv hack right there. (tongue in cheek)

Does anyone remember when you right clicked on a file or folder in Windows explorer it just opened the right click menu? Now we've got this little blue thing going round around in circles.

I thought the file manager was a pretty simple tool. 32 gig of RAM is not enough? What is enough?

"Look, Jared is the investor here." should be in every Democrat advertisement for the next 3 years.

I just said "Many's the twixt between the twixt." And I like it. I'm going to start saying it in front of the ai. (In fact, I already started.) And you'll all be saying it too. By Christmas.

If the imaginary subs are ever delivered, there's no way they'll be in operational, tactical or strategic control of Australian military. These will just be an extension of the American war effort, whatever war they choose.

@thesiswhisperer.bsky.social I am finally listening to The Type Pod and I'm delighted.

While I distractedly feed the chooks, it occurs to me that this sounds a lot like SNL does On The Reg. Not to disrespect Design Inga and German Language Butcher Jason.

Thank-you for the chuckles.

We are at the "Mission Accomplished" stage of the genocide. So much more dispossession, disillusion and death still to come.

We are still missing the #FreePalestine part of the story.

Anne Bronte - characters characterised. Loving her asperity and wit in characterising Mr Lawrence.

One day you wake up and you are 58 years old and all of the professional people supporting you are younger than you.

When did it happen? How did it happen? Am I old now?

When you just copy the whole paragraph into your draft literature review - knowing at some future time there will be a reckoning with this content, but you don't and won't have the fortitude today.

Under fascism in a post-positivist era, do the constructivists become realists?

Struggling with the question: Am I a realist?

What would happen if we discovered the hole in the ozone layer now?

I shudder to think of Big Refrigeration choosing to refrain from changing their practices. And the sheeples in govt just letting them.
