Release the remaining defendants held on remand
Six Palestine Action activists were cleared today of aggravated burglary over a protest at an Israeli weapons firm in 2024. The jury also cleared three defendants of violent disorder and failed to reach a verdict on a GBH charge – charges that are the basis of the group's labelling as "terrorists"

Putting children into poverty to get a cheaper point is certainly a policy position to have!
NEW: Reform UK says it would re-impose the two-child benefit cap - scrapped by Labour - for most families to fund £3bn support package for pubs.

Most worrying thing about recent revelations is that everything was happening in plain sight

Those of us engaged in radical politics at the time pointed to the corruption and were dismissed as conspiracy theorists

Most journalists still ignoring the important issues of corruption and manipulation
1. In 2009 I wrote this. I argued that Peter Mandelson's department “functions as a fifth column within government, working for corporations to undermine democracy and the public interest.”
This thread explains what I saw, and reaches a startling conclusion.🧵

Fixed a broken radiator cover today - involved drills and wall plugs and screwdrivers and rulers and more. Trying to feel a sense of pride, but my brain is more focused on berating me for not now doing more things. Hohum.

William Foege, the physician who saved many millions from smallpox—

William Foege, who sadly died this week, is one of the reasons why this map ends in the 1970s.

I personally think it’s helpful in society to provide training/teaching for doctors and scientists and philosophers and writers and judges etc. etc.!

Very glad, for example, that someone invented penicillin! Very glad, for another example, that someone learnt how to make video games look beautiful!
"They want to spend YOUR taxes on someone else's education!"

GOOD! That's exactly what it should be fucking spent on.

No word of a lie, I met a friend of a friend who was named Ned Kelly once (yes, named after). He was on Brick Lane, had ridiculous hair and jewellery, and I was either just finishing or about to start teaching yoga that afternoon.
Ned Kelly looking like he’s about to open a toast cafe in Shoreditch.

Stopped to get on the taxi queue and an arsehole berated me for getting in his way and called me a “fat girl”. It will shock you that when I challenged him for being an arse he was even lovelier. Anyway, I’m hai g a great time travelling into London for an evening lecture - how are things for you!?

There needs to be a way to say at some point "come on you're just abusing the process now with your evangelical donation money when the local community have made an abundantly clear stand for trans inclusion. Fuck off and stay fucked off".

I know attention is on the US/Greenland, and it’s hard to get proper news from Iran, but this from @christinalamb.bsky.social estimates at least 16,000 people have been killed and over 300,000 injured. Many (most?) victims are thought to be under the age of 30
