Major life fail. Focus on careers, no kids. Invested max in 401k, plan to retire @ 55 & have adventures. Stage 4 cancer tossed our lives into chaos. Trump threw our retirement in the shredder as my husband simplified finances b4 he meets his maker. We do not have the luxury of time to recover.

Epic failure on multiple levels. The worst being that people just don’t care until it hits them. I can forgive people for not understanding supply chains. I’m guilty of that sometimes too.
Way up here in Maine, overhead this convo at the grocery store.
Shopper: Dude, where are the eggs?
Grocer: Dude, you serious?
Shopper: Yahoo dude, where are they?
Grocer: Dude, you heard of bird flu?
Shopper: Yah but I didn't think it was impacting us.
Grocer: It's everywhere, impacting everyone.

“Do not obey in advance”. Let’s get out there. In Portland Maine we have protests on Saturday and an ‘empty chair’ town hall with our absent Senator Collins on Sunday. She hasn’t had a town hall in decades, so we’ll have one anyway.

More whiplash. But what changed?
Good morning. It's Thursday and, if the clouds permit, there'll be a total lunar eclipse visible overnight.

In the news: Maine U.S. Senator Susan Collins announced last night the Trump Agriculture Department is lifting a hold on funds due to the University of Maine System.
Susan Collins announces reinstatement of University of Maine System's paused USDA funding
The system has $63 million in active USDA awards, with approximately $35 million yet to be paid out, according to System spokesperson Samantha Warren.

Tariff…No tariff…even bigger tariff…wait, no tariff…again. A maligned narcissist who can’t turn a profit running a casino is tearing the place up. Canada, dump us, seriously. We will be in touch in the event we ever come to our senses.
Whiplash. We all have whiplash.

“When you hear about patients surviving stage 4 cancer because of immunotherapy, that was based on N.I.H. research over many decades." The #1 and #2 leaders of the NIH are gone. Very sad moment and more devastation to come for this amazing agency.
Francis Collins led the mapping of the human genome, and chose to do big scientific to benefit the public. He is a a former NIH Director.
He just resigned his position in government. His resignation letter:
