This is a big deal.
Editorial in the National Catholic Reporter: "The vice president's comments justifying the death of Renee Good are a moral stain on the collective witness of our Catholic faith. His repeated attempts to blame Good for her own death are fundamentally incompatible with the Gospel."

I find these things to be true

Our current country’s environment is making sleep difficult for many

ICE agents are poorly trained and ICE should be abolished

The fact we haven’t had all Epstein Files released despite that being illegal means our government is depraved.

Did you know-

ICE needs a JUDICIAL warrant, signed by a JUDGE to enter your home.

Administrative warrants signed by ICE do not give them the authority. You refuse entry.

Another poor jobs report, below expectations.

The harmful policies of Trump and his rubber stamp Republicans are hurting the American people.

And what is Trump focused on? “Running” Venezuela and giving $100,000 to every person in Greenland. Crazy.

NEW: Data released by ICE shows that virtually the entire growth of detention in the last few months has been among people with no criminal record at all - no prior convictions (no matter how minor) and no pending criminal charges.

ICE only has about 20-30,000 employees nationwide. Including desk jobs so there's even fewer armed. It's smaller than the NYPD.

There's a reason they do their mega raids on one or two cities at a time, and it's not optics. It's because that's all the dudes they've got.

Something to keep in mind.

So when authorities say “she tried to run over an officer,” that is not a neutral description. It is a claim of intent that can be used to justify lethal force after the fact.

When the state kills first and invents the threat afterward, it is not policing, it is death squad behavior. /end

SUMMARY: The Gestapo’s function was to identify and eliminate real or perceived threats to the Nazi regime, enforcing total political and ideological conformity through surveillance, repression, and terror.

I hope this helps to clarify why I—and many others—call DHS/ICE the ‘American Gestapo’.
🧵: For those that question the comparison of ICE to the Gestapo, here is a list of the Gestapo’s functions and actions under the Nazi regime:

• Identifying, monitoring, arresting, and interrogating enemies of the regime.

• Operating outside judicial oversight, imprisoning people without trial.

Do not give any ground on this. Instead, incorporate their utter inhumanity into your critique—they are what they do: ICE are kidnappers and murders, it is their function; Bari Weiss’ Free Press excuse ICE’s kidnapping and murdering, it is its function. They lack any legitimacy and must be stopped.
they are already turning this into a "debate" and an excuse to scold the left

🖋️ “Demand for Secretary Kristi Noem’s Resignation and Support for Impeachment” hit 10 signers!

💬 Text SIGN PTSYFZ to 50409
Demand for Secretary Kristi Noem’s Resignation and Support for Impeachment
Text SIGN PTSYFZ to 50409 — I am writing as a concerned citizen to demand accountability for the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good, a 37‑year‑old Minnesotan, by a federal immigration agent in Minneapolis on January 7, 2026. Multiple eyewitness accounts and verified video show an ICE operation in a residential neighborhood that escalated with an agent firing repeatedly into a vehicle as it moved away, killing Ms. Good, who local officials say was not the target of any law‑enforcement investigation. This tragic death occurred amid a large‑scale immigration crackdown in Minnesota that state and local leaders had repeatedly warned would endanger public safety. Instead of exercising restraint and committing to a transparent, independent investigation, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem immediately framed this incident as “domestic terrorism,” claimed that Ms. Good had “weaponized” her car, and declared the shooting a justified act of self‑defense before the facts were fully known. State and local officials, including Governor Tim Walz and Mayor Jacob Frey, have openly repudiated this narrative as propaganda and “garbage,” underscoring that federal officials appear more focused on political spin than truth or justice. This is an abuse of power that erodes public trust and inflames tensions in a community still traumatized by prior police violence. Secretary Noem’s conduct in this case does not stand in isolation. In announcing plans to impeach Secretary Noem, Representative Robin Kelly has detailed a broader pattern of lawless and unethical behavior: obstruction of Congress by willfully blocking oversight and withholding congressionally appropriated funds, violation of public trust by compromising public safety and due process, and self‑dealing by steering federal dollars to associates for personal or political benefit. These actions, coupled with the Department’s increasingly militarized and chaotic immigration operations from Chicago to Minneapolis to Los Angeles, show a leadership that is not merely misguided, but dangerous and unconstitutional. Given these facts, I join Representative Kelly and many others in demanding Secretary Kristi Noem’s removal from office. Her rhetoric and decisions have turned ICE into a rogue force that is killing innocent people, tearing families apart, and undermining the rule of law. When a cabinet official abuses power, obstructs oversight, violates civil rights, and then uses inflammatory language to pre‑judge the dead and pre‑clear the shooters, that official cannot credibly lead a department entrusted with the safety and liberties of the public. I therefore urge you to do the following: Publicly call for Secretary Kristi Noem’s immediate resignation. Support and advance Rep. Robin Kelly’s articles of impeachment for obstruction of Congress, violation of public trust, and self‑dealing, and ensure they receive prompt hearings and votes. Demand a fully independent, transparent investigation into the killing of Renee Nicole Good, with public release of all relevant video, communications, and use‑of‑force reviews, as well as a broader inquiry into DHS and ICE operations in Minnesota and other affected communities. Move legislation and oversight measures that rein in abusive immigration enforcement tactics, protect due process for citizens and non‑citizens alike, and prevent any administration from using federal law enforcement as a political weapon. The people of this country deserve a Department of Homeland Security that upholds the Constitution, respects human life, and accepts democratic oversight—not one that spreads propaganda, shields misconduct, and treats communities as enemy territory. Secretary Kristi Noem has forfeited the public’s trust and should no longer serve. Renee Nicole Good should be alive today. Her death must not be minimized, excused, or forgotten. It must be a turning point for real accountability.

#MEpolitics: I think it’s also important to point out that the version of LD 1971 that passed the House in June 2025—which Gov Mills stuck in a drawer until she joined the senate race—is a watered down iteration of the original text, with fewer restrictions, largely because of her opposition to it.
#MEpolitics: Important context - LD 1971, the bill limiting state cooperation with federal law enforcement that Gov Mills is alluding to in this post, will not actually go into effect until later in 2026 because she refused to sign it in to law when it passed the legislature in June 2025.
