Quick Audiobook Reviews, May 2025 🎧📚❤️🦋

Finally had some motivation to work on these again. It’s been a struggle to be creative lately. I’m trying to take advantage of the moments when they come. Working through the backlog. See if I can finish them by the end of the year. 💕💪🏻

The few photos I took at my brother’s wedding last weekend. I was able to put together a mask chain in time. Still depressing to be the only one masking, but public health is pretty much non existent at this point and I hate being sick so it is what it is. 😷🤷🏻‍♀️

Reading Wrap Up for August ❤️🎧📚

Stuck with romances. August was a bit more stressful than anticipated and the dreaded reading slump finally hit.

I did enjoy what I was able to read. Very much looking forward to the Good Spirits audiobook when it comes out. 👻❄️

Giving the police your phone to show your ID (or for anything else) is a terrible idea and absolutely no one should do this.

Still mad at everyone who refused to mask up and continues to refuse to
UK: What if everyone had masked up? Analysis of app data has the answer:
"Respirators would have dropped the rate of COVID transmission by an estimated factor of 9, compared with 0.6 for surgical masks. A factor of 9 is enough to put SARS-COV-2 into exponential decay!

Modelling study based on almost 250,000 positive COVID-19 tests in the United Kingdom shows that universal masking could have cut transmission markedly.

Finally finished the wedding shower invites for my brother and his fiancé. Here are the Disney couples I drew for it because, of course, it’s Disney themed.

Couples included are: Flynn and Rapunzel, Hercules and Meg, and Tarzan and Jane

been seeing a lot of “i just tested positive” skeets lately, some from folks who’ve managed to avoid SARS2 for years. this can be disorienting if not outright frightening in our present, so here’s what me n mine do when someone tests positive.

*sped up 2x for time limit, slow to .5 recommended !

It’s so important to understand WHY the new Senate bill has such drastic provisions to kill renewable energy

Fossil fuel industry lobbyists and Big Oil-funded activists have been ALL OVER the GOP in recent weeks, telling them that clean energy jobs are “fentanyl jobs” and “a cancer”
The Senate is about to destroy clean energy to give tax cuts to billionaires
The bill could pass within the next 24 hours.

Wish he could run for president. More of this energy please. 💕💪🏻

Also, read Limitarianism: The Case Against Extreme Wealth by Ingrid Robeyns
Meet the Press: Do you think billionaires have a right to exist?

@zohrankmamdani.bsky.social: I don't think we should have billionaires because frankly it is so much money in a moment of such inequality & ultimately what we need more of his equality across the city & across the state & country.

Stealing from the poor, giving to the rich, at a time when inequality is already at record levels.

Inequality is the thing that holds us back most — and this Republican bill exacerbates it. (Again) #TrumpsTrillionsTransfer

Quick Audiobook Reviews, April 2025 🍋🫐

For the illustrations, I wanted to do an April Showers theme, but just wasn’t happy with how my rain boots and umbrellas were going so went with food instead. Love a good lemon blueberry scone.

Just realized the two audiobooks I’m reading use the same narrator. I try my best to avoid that because the stories tend to blend, but hopefully with one being nonfiction and the other being contemporary romance, that won’t happen. 😅
