Trump's 3/27 executive order targets the Smithsonian for advancing "the view that race is not a biological reality but a social construct."

Trump argues that the exhibit's statement, below, is unscientific. He's wrong. As a biology professor and population geneticist, I agree with every word of it.

As a kid, I visited my dad in the hospital before he died of pancreatic cancer.

Three years ago, I held my husband’s hand as he died of pancreatic cancer.

People are doing the same right now all over the country.

F#ck RFK jr and the ignoramus running the NIH.

You can’t say criminals don’t deserve due process when due process is the thing that decides if they're criminals. Otherwise you're just kidnapping people you don't like.

If six months ago you'd told me that in autumn 2025 I'd have to go to Canada to get my annual COVID vaccine but I wouldn't do it because coming back through immigrations was too risky for someone who had criticized the government, I would have looked at you like you were having a stroke.
In what proportions is our new NIH Director a flaming ignoramus vs. a brazen liar?

Just spoke with my CDC sources. They were in tears.

Budgets cut. RFJK has ordered them not to publicize bird flu symptoms in exposed workers. Not to test them. Not to speak.

They know people are getting sick. And they’re being forced to stay silent.

This is not just a cover-up. It's cruelty.

My students wrote to Mark Carney citing their concerns about tariffs. Several students worried about parents losing their jobs and having to move away from friends

… he wrote back.

My students will never forget that a politician took their concern’s seriously!
