Here is an interesting project, which - if it finds its way to the right people - has the potential to legitimately help improve public health. The approach to broadcasting the outcomes sounds a bit scary, but ultimately I think it's probably right 1/ #ScientificPublishing #ResearchIntegrity

Is is acceptable for a Fellow of the @royalsociety.org to promote white supremacism? What message does it send about their commitment to an inclusive academy?
Elon Musk has changed his X profile.

His avatar is now Pepe the Frog, a mascot adopted by white supremacists.

His name is a Latinisation of “Kek”, a phrase used by neo-Nazis.

Musk has also backed AfD in Germany, the political home for racists.

The man is telling us explicitly what he’s about.

Yearly reminder that the world will not end if you don’t submit your paper or revision before the holidays.

Editors are people too & need a break. The @plosbiology.org team in particular has done outstanding work this year & fully deserves it. We’re mostly off the next 2 weeks.

Happy holidays!

Go and nominate, I guess? #ResearchIntegrity
With 20 spaces left in the #ResearchIntegrity Starter Pack, could we fill these with early career researchers/professionals or others who might not feel confident putting themselves on the list?

If you have suggestions for people who'd be a good fit, please let me know!

The function of the striking patterns and intense colour (which are unique among known biofluorescent mammals) is a mystery.

So pleased to share our new paper on object transport decisions in @natureportfolio.bsky.social Scientific reports!
We found that Goffins' cockatoos choose to carry light objects over heavy objects over short distances, but ignore weight balance cues. Check it out!
Goffin’s cockatoos choose lighter objects over identical heavier ones ⚖️

New research showed they often switched back and forth between objects, a sign of their decision-making process 👇
