The extent to which China is powering the world with affordable, clean energy technologies - from solar photovoltaics to electric vehicles - is astonishing. It's already the biggest energy story of my lifetime and it's still early days.
Electric cars go mainstream as adoption surges across rich and developing nations

A wave of affordable Chinese-made EVs is accelerating the shift away from petrol cars, challenging long‑held assumptions about how transport decarbonisation unfolds.

Fertilisation of the ocean with mineral dust promotes algal blooms that capture carbon, but when the same thing happens in Greenland, it reduces albedo leading to accelerating melting.

A new study analysed dust collected from the Greenland Ice sheet and found minerals essential to algal growth.

Methane pollution from US oil and gas infrastructure causes more climate change than the entire economies of all but seven nations on earth.

(This is with methane's climate impacts conservatively evaluated over a 100-year time frame. Evaluated over shorter time frames, methane's impacts are worse.)

Based on these NASA CERES and geodetic (=gravity) satellites based observations and comparison to CMIP6 models, I think @simonoxfphys.com falsely portrayed 3°C as an 'intentionally scaring, illegitimate 'doomer' scenario'.

It's a substantial risk, which we have the (moral) obligation to communicate

“Winter storm fueled by global warming” Nails it! Why haven’t I seen that headline in the legacy media? Of yeah, they sell ads and accept $ from car makers, oil, methane…
Right now, the jet stream is bulging far north over the western U.S. while plunging deep south over the east, allowing Arctic air to spill unusually far south. The pattern is becoming more common as the Arctic warms faster than the rest of the planet.
Rapid Arctic warming and melting, stronger more intense ocean heat waves, increased atmospheric moisture and more frequent disruptions of stratospheric polar vortex
