A few years ago, when I lived in the CA desert, I went outside to clear the thorny tumbleweeds from my yard, and when I went down the breezeway between my house & fence, I stepped into a void.

I never realized how much I use the em dash until a producer asked that I double check my spacing across my entire script.
They were right, btw— I am grammatically inconsistent.
(See what I did there? That's incorrect. You want a space on either side — Or—no spaces.)
