Today, Ghislaine Maxwell was set to testify before Congress.

Rep Ro Khanna provided the list of questions, including if she and Epstein ever provided access to underage girls to Donald Trump.

She is refusing to answer on the grounds that it might incriminate her.

That's enough answer for me.

Former Washington Post journalists have launched a GoFundMe to help repatriate fired staff members who are effectively stranded in foreign countries.

One of the richest men in the world fired them from the paper and didn’t even pay to ensure they got home.

Anyone who would reach billionaire status and not immediately start divesting themselves of gains shows you they have no character. No person’s labor justifies billionaire status in their lifetime. It’s absurd. It’s just a sign consumers are being fleeced and workers are being denied fair wages.

I've written about the overarching post story, causes, underlying pattern. But the failure of Lewis or Bezos to even show up, literally or figuratively, on a day of devastating cuts epitomizes the profound lack of character and accountability that is so common place today within the American elite.

"More than 200" AI slop novels collectively selling "around 50,000 copies" proves that not one of them was actually good enough to create any organic interest. The entire business model is scamming people looking for something fun to read, thereby polluting the same waters where real books are sold.
fuck this lady, fuck the nyt reporter, fuck all of this. fuck amazon for introducing the KU page read model that makes this possible, fuck our tech overlords.

Early returns in Louisiana’s special election:

The Dem candidate is leading 58.5% to 41.5%. That’s with a third of the vote in.

Context: this is a Dem-held seat but in a district TRUMP carried by 13%, so has been a big/obvious GOP target. Stay tuned.

Crazy how firing 300 people and destroying an important American institution wasn’t seen as callous in and off itself, it was having someone else fire 300 people for you while you hung out with famous people that was apparently unforgivable.
