Alice in Wonderland is getting a 4K remaster. The classic film from Walt Disney Animation Studios will reveal a new restoration at the 2026 TCM Classic Film Festival. I hope we get to see it soon on Blu-ray because the remasters of Cinderella and Snow White were so good.

Uh oh, don't show Matt Groening this, Bart is off-model and cartoony here.

...and just like that, the American Family Association was sent into crisis mode. Someone in hell should eternally loop this scene for Donald Wildmon.

Scrooged was released on this date 37 years ago. Directed by Richard Donner and starring Bill Murray as a selfish and cynical TV exec, the film reportedly had a tumultuous production with Murray and Donner clashing over differing visions, but it nevertheless proved commercially successful.

Going off of Aesop's 620BC-564BC lifespan, that would mean the "2600 Years Ago" line to kick off the moral segments in the 1920s Aesop Fables cartoons would be more correct now. 2600 years ago at this point is 576 BC, squarely within Aesop's later part of his life.

Thirty years ago today, Toy Story was released. One of the most important films released, this film launched Pixar as one of the biggest players in animation thanks to its heartwarming story, groundbreaking animation, and lovable characters that'll last for infinity and beyond.

Disney's gonna make a bid to buy out WB too, aren't they?
🚨 The second season of The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball premieres December 22nd on Hulu.

I find it hilarious that the first Betty Boop and Popeye appearance together in a piece of Paramount media since the latter's first short in 1933 is a South Park episode where Droopy shits in Kyle's mouth.

Here's one from the handful of good/great Casper cartoons, if only more of his shorts made him this badass:

1. You don't have to draw like a professional Marvel/DC Comics artist.

2. Stuff like Funny Animal comics and comics with Saturday morning camp need to make a major comeback.

3. Let comics be goofy and stupid again.

4. Comics should go back to having simpler art styles.
Anyone have a particularly hot comic take?

If Disney wants short form content on their platform, why not put more of the classic Disney cartoons on the platform instead… not this A.I. garbage.

I know Paramount is still selective about what Terrytoons shorts to license out, but soon this skunk's horrific crimes will be exposed for all of MeTV Toons' audience to witness.
Say what you will about Pepe Le Pew, but at least he had enough restraint to wait until the cartoon ended to do....whatever the hell happened below...

It was never an exaggeration to say Disney will do EVERYTHING but dig a little more into their old animation library, even including hosting AI-generated Youtube shorts apparently.

What garbage.

I'll never get over the island name of Egghead in One Piece, considering this is still the first thing I think of:

Reminds me of what happened to Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, where the candlelight effect within the dwarfs' home from the original print has been removed over the decades. Just another reminder why film preservation is hugely important!

...And MeTV Toons will start to have more Betty Boop shorts they can run in the Popeye and Pals hour (and better than the already PD post-code shorts at that).
Looking at what's entering the public domain in January, and it looks like 2026 belongs to the girls.
