My partner does not find this nearly as funny as I do so I had to come here and share it. Bi-cycles! They go both ways!
I am here for fat goth loli Klingons!
Thiiiiiis point is why I wear EGL with my Klingon ridges- yes please give me all the subculture variety! #KlingonGothicLolita
I am circling back to my own mention of flagging - because there is no freaking way that subcultures don't exist in space. I don't just mean rebels wearing rebel insignia either. I mean, like, where are the goths on Babylon Five? I know they're there. Give me space goth.

The future is a big place. Fit more kinds of bodies in it.
Absolutely yes. And for gods' sake, be brave with different bodies. I was so glad to see someone even TV fat on Star Trek: Disco. The future is a big place! Fit more kinds of bodies in it!

Hey, pals! @megelison.bsky.social and I are having this conversation right now! We have a LOT of opinions.
Tonight, @therotund.bsky.social and I will be talking about examples of fashion in spec fic, both written and on-screen. Right here on Bluesky, in fanfare for the forthcoming "What Elegant Stars," a fashionable space opera anthology. www.kickstarter.com/projects/dav...

This “queer tales” series has been a labor of love since we founded Neon Hemlock in 2019.

A little bear figurine carved out of amber some 6,000 years ago 🐻❤️

A hole runs through the bear’s torso suggesting it was threaded on a cord, perhaps worn or carried as a protective charm.

Found in a peat bog near Słupsk, Poland, in 1887.

No joke: I got angry hate mail today for writing an obituary of a Black woman scientist—because the person felt she did didn’t deserve the recognition.

Which just makes me want to share it again: www.nature.com/articles/d41...

She made key contributions to US cold-war science despite facing huge barriers as a Black woman.

Every time I talk to @karnythia.bsky.social I wind up logging into BlueSky like "What the hell are you talking about???"

Y'all, i just feel like there is no answer to Mikki's question.
A random Sons of Anarchy plot hole that bugs me every time I think of it...why would an American biker gang selling guns need to buy them from IRA? Wouldn't they be selling guns to the IRA and other groups? Theft from military armories and police seizures and gun shipments is right there

Pals, I am so hype to have TWO stories on Ellen Datlow’s complete recommendation list for Best Horror - and also to be have the list be Stephen King and then me thanks to how the alphabet works. 😆

If you read either/both of these stories, I hope you love it/them.

I wrote my first published novel to the Carnivale - I'm still so into that show. And Clancy Brown.

But that's been true since the Kurgan.
Happy Birthday to The Voice and the best part of Carnivale, Clancy Brown.

There's one critique of ISLE IN THE SILVER SEA I need to respond to: a medieval lesbian having a strap isn't anachronistic. There's a lot of purposeful anachronism/timey-wimey shit in ISLE, but the strap isn't one of those things.

Well, I have not finished my fabric cataloging but I have made a great big dent and also proven to myself most thoroughly that I gotta sew like eight pairs of pants stat if nothing else.

Spending today cataloging some of my fabric on ThreadLoop. It’s very satisfying even as I am confronted with just how much fabric I have acquired over the last five years. Whew. I have so much sewing to do.

Also I really gotta finish my Indyx closet, too.

Obviously I long for organization.

In the dark of your heart,
there is a summer,
a brightly lit secret,
a creature of beautiful burning,
flame-smart and foolish,
a desire to be
and become,
so what are you doing?
No more standing still,
standing small,
no more sweetness
and sidelness,
it's time to forgive the fall.
