The Powderhorn Park neighborhood has been the biggest target of immigration enforcement in Minnesota. It’s home to a large immigrant community who is now struggling to pay rent. Kidnappings are on the rise because people cannot stay home. Please help us out. Link is in my bio.

If Circle Pines kids are protesting then it's done for - we will win.

Gee sorry your blacked out SUV with tinted windows is sometimes mistaken for feds maybe you shouldn't be driving something so menacing around the city all the time. 🙄 It's nice to know if there are six angry fascists in a literal black box near me and if I can't tell from looking then that's on you.

ICE was super heavy in Powderhorn/Phillips this morning starting around 6 AM. Try to get up a bit early and patrol the neighborhood so everyone can get to work/school safely. They were VERY quick with snatch and grabs but following / whistling / honking helped deter many more.

Interesting single stair report from MN coming out - where they did a whole lot of data analysis and comparative life safety modeling.

In short, it adds substance to what we’ve been arguing:

Single stair is a lot safer than two stair buildings with long hallways, and much safer than single fam

#mspcyclecast Marshall and Summit bike lanes nonexistent, compacted snow and occasional piles and parked cars. Take the lane and keep your U Lock handy.

#mspcyclecast Shepard Rd / Sam Morgan is inadvisable
Go across mainland St Paul if possible. Rapidly freezing mixed slush/compacted snow conditions, quickly worsening with dropping temps.

If you want to know how not to do graffiti, read this article lol. This is what you do when you're 12 years old. 🤦‍♀️ Leave your blackbook at home when painting and catch some real tags so people have heard of you before doing an article about your toy pieces and chase story at a chill daytime spot. 😂
Icandy sat in the brush, heart pounding.

He didn’t have time to think when he saw the Minneapolis Park Patrol officer fighting his way through bushes and trees down the steep hill to under the bridge on Burnham Road. He just grabbed his paint-stained, half-open backpack and ran.
They’re on Probation for Graffiti. That Hasn’t Stopped Them From Painting. - Racket
Even after a harrowing trip to the Hennepin County Jail 2 years ago, these best friends keep painting—and pushing their luck.

MPD raided the local trap house near lake and 17th, including swat truck, ~8 cruisers, few unmarked, and a paddy wagon. Neighbors on it right away, but many copwatch folks arrived within 15 min. Did good job filming, badge numbers, essentially ensuring no feds/ICE. I'm convinced this was 100% MPD.

Finally get to nice weather where you can open your window and not have heat, humidity or wildfire smoke but the damn cop helicopter is circling over my house 😡

Need to send a robot bicycle up and down the Jackson/10th separated bike lanes in downtown St Paul that continually gets creamed by all the cars pulling out of parking garages without looking or turning across the path without yielding. They should explode just large enough to total your car.

I'm simultaneously like "biking to work is easy and nice and everyone should do it" and "wow I only made it to work ok from years of bike messenger and alley cat skillz - if I didn't get super cutty five times I would have been a pancake".
"Claire Thefaine agreed about feeling unsafe on a bike...

Detours to nowhere, bicyclist close calls: reports from a tough summer for commuters
The Minnesota Star Tribune asked readers to talk about their worst commutes amid all the road construction. Here is a sampling of what they said.

Bikes are generally very resilient to road construction / closures but good lord getting out of downtown Saint Paul is a chore.

Every major N-S street you encounter in St Paul is prioritized so cars can get to the highway. Can't find a single good E-W road where I don't get a minute long red light at every single intersection. 🙄

Remember when Saint Paul repaved Summit Ave but not the bike lanes? 😡

Need Mythbusters to figure out if cycling to work fast/effortful or slow/chill in AQI 230 is worse.

Twin Cities drivers currently feel *especially* oppressed, saying the war on cars has ramped up because it temporarily takes 35 minutes instead of 20 to drive across the most dense part of the largest metro area in a 400 mile radius (and might have to park 500 ft from their end location).

People who think we have actual traffic in the Twin Cities think Pizza Luce is good pizza.

MSP bike closures this summer, am I missing any??

Stupid helicopter flying in circles over Powderhorn/Phillips once again 👎
March 18, 2025 at 9:15 PM
Lol
Started thinking about the state of the nation during the school drop-off drive, forgot where I was going, almost ran a red light and got completely lost. It's a 3-minute drive. So, just a word of warning: for vehicular safety, do not itemize your shitlist while driving.

Future #mspcyclecast fish hatchery trail in St Paul will be closed april-october 2025. Make sure you bring your spinny gear (or climbing legs) for the detour!

Fuckin boomers ruining the next hundred years for us because they'll have to spend their last ten living near an apartment building that "doesn't fit the neighborhood character".
