The last couple of months ended up being far more complicated than I thought, so the plans I had fell apart - which is often the case. We're currently waiting on the result of a biopsy Mum had at the end of last month, and it's been a very long two weeks so far.

I've talked about my dream financial goal before. What I want to do now is put that into context. My Ko-fi is set at £3. If I have 500 people enjoy the Lockwoods enough to give me £3 then I've reached it for that month. At current I have about a novel's worth of work available.

My boyfriend (21M) refused to take me to hospital (21F) after asking him multiple times. I'm now questioning the relationship...... I recently became severely unwell with chronic migraine episode. I suffer with chronic hemiplegic (mimics stroke symptoms) migraine which I get treated for every 3 months using Botox. I haven't had an episode in a very long time. However the other day I have a migraine come on that was the worst pain of my life. It started in the morning and gradually got worse by the evening time. I was in tears from the pain however at this stage I could still talk. I had a phone appointment with my Dr and she advised me to go to hospital. I rang my partner (21M) while he was at work, I never call him when he is working. He didn't answer so I kept ringing until he did answer. I was on the phone crying to him explaining I needed to go to hospital. Straight away he denied and said no as he can't leave work. I got more upset. He said okay give me 10 minutes I'll call you During this time my vision becomes blurry and my speech is slurred. I am home alone crying on the couch in pain. I couldn't use my phone to call for help or text as I couldn't see. My partner never rang me back. 1 hr and 30 mins past and he comes home. I am very upset with him but I'm glad he is home. He still doesn't take me to hospital. At 2:30 am I am crying asking to go to hospital and he keeps refusing saying it's okay just sleep, I'll take you in the morning. I didn't sleep, I lie in bed, in pain for hours. Finally, he takes me to the hospital at 7am. I am very upset with how he handled the situation. I will have this condition for the rest of my life and I need a partner to support me. Am I being dramatic by what happened? I love my partner, he is my best friend but when it comes to a situation like this, he didn't put me first. He put work before me. We have been together for many years, I'd love some advice. Every person i interact with on discord will be affected by the id bullshit. Why? You aren't allowed to uncensor images marked as "sensitive". Art refs with tits get flagged immediately.

Discord is already starting to walk things back a little, so people should keep doing what they're doing (cancel Nitro, leave feedback/criticism, direct contact through support tickets/phone/email/etc)
Tl;dr: The vast majority of adults will never have to interact with our age assurance systems and their experience won't change, because we know Discord and how people use it, so we're designing to respect privacy and deliver a safer experience while minimizing friction for adults. Hey folks – I’ve been on Discord since very early 2016 and actually joined the company in 2017. Safety is one of my areas, so today’s announcement on our blog is something I’ve been pretty involved with. I’ve always cared about Discord's approach to privacy (E2EE for A/V was another of my projects here), so I figured I’d add some more context to today's news. I can say confidently that the vast majority of people will never see age verification. I say this because we launched age assurance in the UK and Australia in 2025, and we have some pretty good data on this now. The idea here is that we can pre-identify most adults based on what we already know (not including your messages!), and that looks to get us pretty far here. No face scans, no IDs, for the vast majority of adults. And if you are one of the smaller subset of folks that we can't definitively pre-identify, then still, you only have to do it if you're accessing age-restricted servers or channels, or changing certain settings. That's really not most users. (Altho... might be more Redditors, tbh.) Last, I know that there is concern about privacy and data leaks. That's a real concern. The selfie system is built purely client-side, it never leaves your device, and we did that intentionally. That'll work for a bunch of users who aren't pre-identified as adults. But if you do end up in the ID bucket, then yeah, you're right that has some risk. We're doing what we can to minimize this by working with our range of partners (who are different partners than the data leak you read about), and if it's any help, we learned a lot internally from the last issue. But I get if that doesn't necessarily inspire more confidence. Anyway, we’ll be sharing more next month as we get closer to the global roll out about the system, including the technology behind it in March. I honestly wouldn't be happy if we didn't build something good and I am excited about what we’re launching, but please let us know what you think when we share more details. And I really appreciate everybody's feedback here today. We’re definitely reading it!

@Nick_Davidov Asked Claude Cowork organize my wife's desktop, it stated doing it, asked for a permission to delete temp office files, I granted it, and then it goes "ooops" Turns out it tried renaming and accidentally deleted a folder with all of the photos my wife made on her camera for the last 15 years. All photos of kids, their illustrations, friends' weddings, travel, everything. It's not in trash, it was done via terminal It's not in iCloud, it already synced the new file structure. She didn't have Time Machine. Disc recovery tools can't see anything. I called Apple and they pointed me to a feature in iCloud allowing to retrieve files that were saved before but are no longer on iCloud Drive (they keep them for 30 days). I'm now watching it load tens of thousands of files. I nearly had a heart attack. I'm convinced AI is our generation's radium - a discovery with genuinely useful applications in specific, controlled circumstances that we stupidly put in everything from kid's toys to toothpaste until we realised the harm far too late where future generations will ask if we were out of our minds.

A.I. remains contentious in the romance community. A vocal contingent of readers oppose its use and are quick to call out suspected transgressions. Furor erupted on social media last year when two romance authors published works with A.I. prompts accidentally left in. “You’re an opportunist hack using a theft machine,” the fantasy writer Rebecca Crunden wrote in an expletive-laced message on Bluesky. Many readers seem to share her distaste, she said in an interview: “The comment I keep seeing is, ‘Why should we pay for something that you couldn’t be bothered to make?’”
