A literal representation of the Lovecraft quote, "The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents."
This mural has gone up in Kingston, ostensibly for Christmas but AI has ensured it's actually to celebrate the return of our dark lord Cthulhu

Don't miss this great new tool from the folks over at the Election Law Program: an enormous database pulling together election statutes, regulations, advisory opinions, and related material from all 50 states, letting you search them all in one spot. Check it out now and bookmark it for later!
We're thrilled to announce the launch of the Election Law Navigator.

After years of work, the Election Law Program has built a free tool to navigate the complexities of state election law.

If the NYT told the story of the homeless teenager exploited by Matt Gaetz with even half as much empathy as it tells the story of Olivia Nuzzi, it would be in danger of committing journalism.

Same town, new spot.

The “Best Friends Forever” statue of Trump and pedophile Jeffrey Epstein holding hands just reappeared in DC after federal authorities already tore it down twice. 🤣

I say it over and over again: when you have that much money, you want to live where you want to live and you are simply not going to relocate because of marginal tax rates

NEW: The first two years of Massachusetts' millionaire tax has raised $3 billion more than expected.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

Tax the rich. Greg Ryan in @bloomberg.com:

A millionaire levy in Massachusetts that New York City mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani holds up as a model for taxing the rich has generated $3 billion more in revenue than expected without forcing...

It is blindingly obvious he did, and even the pretense that he didn’t would mean he has no credibility to whip votes and so he isn’t a viable leader either way.

bring the hammer down on the corrupt self-dealing politicians and their rich friends and there are no sacred cows id give a pass”

People are assuming Epstein bill dies in the Senate and that's a reasonable expectation, but I'm getting less sure. They were so desperate to avoid a recorded vote they tried to pass the House by UC. All that pressure is about to turn on the Senate. It's not unthinkable he ends up having to veto it.

Saw someone post that they didn’t want to take any aurora photos because it was cliché, everyone’s doing it

The sky’s full of mystical dancing lights, from particles miles above us, excited by a burp from our local star. You’re allowed to be excited about cool shit, and this is especially cool shit

Today is a good day to remember, and to say, that the #MeToo movement was right, and was righteous, and has been vindicated over and over again. There was no overreach. There was no excess. There was no they-went-too-far.

So much work remains to be done.

So, the Dems released three emails specifically building a case against Trump/Epstein. The GOP responded by releasing 20k more, supposedly to put the first three "in context". But somehow, they haven't pointed to anything exculpatory.

Strange.

the one question to ask any politician or reporter who claims the 8 Senate Ds went rogue to capitulate to Trump:

If Schumer opposed the deal, why did Schumer's whip vote for it?

Since the Democrats worked extra hard to hide who actually supported this, I think the No Kings/Resistance position should be to primary every Democrat unless they publicly call for Schumer's ouster this week

Either they go into total rebellion mode, which they won't, or the people will

State and local Democrats: We absolutely destroyed the GOP in this week's elections.

Chuck Schumer: We're about to lose support. Time to cave.

I might exempt a few who were more excoriating of this plan, but then again, they should demand his ouster most of all, if they are genuine in their outrage.

Schumer's sold them out twice. Why give him a third strike?

It doesn't actually matter if Chuck Schumer votes for this or not.

If he can't keep his caucus unified to protect healthcare for over 10 million Americans, he should resign as leader.
