Someone should start writing the same “how the left made me leave X” hot take over and over, but sub in a different city each time. See how many times you can get published before someone catches on.

That trope is catnip for heterodox opinion mills.

The mere threat of this would have instantly ended any presidency from Truman to Obama. Totally normalized now, whether he carries through with it or not. One. Special. Boy.
This is part of a pattern that is impeachable: Trump cuts previously appropriated Congressional funds, but only to states led by Democrats (California, Colorado, Illinois and Minnesota).
The Trump administration plans to rescind $600 million in public health funds from four states led by Democrats because it finds the grants “inconsistent with agency priorities,” according to documents reviewed by the NYT

this is always the thing with musk in recent years — when you think, just, like, two steps ahead, it’s blindingly obvious that he doesn’t have any idea what he’s talking about, he doesn’t have anything what he’s doing, everything is just a shell game to get to the next shell game
"self growing cities" my dude there is NO FOOD ON THE MOON, you will have to continuously send supplies to the moon forever! That would be worse than sending supplies to literally any other spot on earth!

And we wonder how Donald Trump could have possibly won in 2016 and 2024.
There's no "centrist" difference-splitting on this. We have to make clear that some beliefs held by loud pressure groups are simply contrary to democracy, and we can't indulge them.
Great read - bottom line, a fifth of Americans think we’d be better off if women couldn’t vote. And it’s a pretty even across race and ethnicity.

It is a scandal that more people in positions of influence are not informing people that everything they are seeing--e.g. dystopian government violence, databases, lawlessness--is occurring *before* the dramatic expansion in militarized surveillance spending for ICE.

As the negotiations over DHS budget continue, please remember: the ICE detention budget alone was exploded in 2025 so it is now 62% greater than the entire Bureau of Prisons. People are not clocking what this infusion of cash to build concentration camps will do to our society.
