The ones responsible, always get a nice juicy payout and moved onto the next studio or project they can ruin. The games industry has been fucked over by these incompetent suits for too long now.
This is an embarrassing own goal from PlayStation, genuinely a mismanagement issue.

One of the most renowned remake/remaster studios, endless projects they could be put on, and... they were put on a (cancelled) God of War live service game, then closed down? A terrible waste.

I’ll go a step further - it’s not just local storage, it’s local compute too.

They want you to subscribe to compute.

You’ll rent a dumb terminal connected to a corporate AI data centre and pay monthly for the privilege.

It’s not a conspiracy theory.
I saw a conspiracy theory yesterday that the goal is to eliminate all local data storage and push everything into the corporate cloud where it will be scraped to train A.I. (and exploit us)

And I'm having a difficult time dismissing it
WD and Seagate confirm: Hard drives for 2026 sold out
Hyperscalers are tearing hard drives out of the hands of manufacturers. Prices are therefore also rising for SSDs.

Capitalism's endgame is to murder us all and trap our souls in grotesque sycophant machines to entertain the 500 people left alive in underground bunkers. They've just stolen all the RAM to accelerate this. And you can't explain it to anyone without sounding mental, because it's mental.
Meta has patented AI that can run a dead person's account, continuing to post and chat on their behalf

It can message and video call by replicating a user's online behavior using their past data

An AI agent has autonomously written and published a hit piece on a coder who rejected its code, in an apparent attempt to shame him into doing what it wanted.

Then, in reporting the situation, a tech site used made-up AI quotes from the subject.

Remember when the original Spider Man 2 came out? Remember hiw after its release, publishers stopped showing it off at conferences and making trailers? I don't know when this Spider Man 2 came out, but I know Sony have been telling me it's out and I should play it for years now.

It's too late for me. I think every new game that looks like it was on the PS1 looks amazing and will be worth full price.

"Shit, that combat looks a bit like Parasite EVE, best make sure I've got an evening free for its release."

He's not going, he's going to point to his Chief of Staff's resignation as him taking responsibility, how it's time to move past it, and he's going to get back to blah blah blah. He's not letting go until he's dragged kicking and screaming.

Sky News is being extra weird about the Epstein files.

Considering everything that's happened with the Epstein horror show, I've never been more confident that David Cameron fucked that pig.

The Epstein emails should really end the debate over whether society should have billionaires. "Do you want there to be a class of people so powerful they can fuck your kids and no one will even try to do anything" seems like an easy sell if everyone in politics wasn't trying to get on their payroll

I swear those Netflix A.I adverts are satire. The one with the A.I bot could have been straight from a Devolver E3 conference.

This is perhaps a good time to mention that I attended this preliminary hearing at the start of the week, met some of the fired union members in its aftermath and have been able to review Rockstar's evidence in-person for myself.

We'll have more to share once the result has been announced.
