As an Anthropologist, I'll say that loving at a distance is healthy, normal, and far better for your overall sense of well being. Families can and often do suck, and have horrible people who wish you harm. Do whatever you need to do. Forgive yourself first.

Blowing up the fishermen is desensitizing people to the idea of drone violence against civilians so it can happen in the US more easily.
