I've wasted so much of my life rooting for losers. I used to root for winners. The fuck happened to me?

I can't remember the precise wording but someone on here said that the Republican threat to expose Bill Clinton too isn't so much a threat as it is a "buy one, get one free" promotion.
"This could take down Democrats, too."

I know. And I frankly wouldn't give even an itty bitty damn if it implicated every Democratic man in Congress, every Democratic hopeful for 2028 and every Democrat who has even thought about running for office.

Down with the sex predators, wherever they are.

This is how someone with critical thinking skills, morals and values responds to this situation.

It’s the only right answer.

If you can’t be critical of “your side” then your identity is tied to a political party and you’ve sacrificed your entire character for a corrupt entity.

Sure, it's stupid that millionaire athletes are getting caught up in gambling scandals, but that bad decision-making is what led them to gamble in the first place

Gambling is playing against odds that you know are stacked against you, so the odds you'll get caught are just another dice game baby

Caving for nothing means that Democrats are the ones responsible for the shutdown because they could have taken this shit deal weeks ago.

If the rest don’t oust Schumer immediately, then the entire U.S. Senate sold us out. They think we’re stupid. It’s insulting.
These 8 Senators sold us out to Trump:
Hassan
King
Cortez-Masto
Shaheen
Kaine
Fetterman
Durbin
Rosen

Understand This Fact: Chuck Schumer is behind this. None of these 8 are up for reelection in 2026. Schumer asked them vote yes—they agreed. He's such a coward that he folded and won't even own it.

the minute flights got canceled, Dems folded like a house of cards, leaving me to wonder why the fuck this post made some of you so angry
not enough chatter about how frequently members fly and how attacking airport capacity directly affects them in a way that cutting SNAP does not

You won't be missed, Schumer
Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis

For the millions who will lose coverage
For people with cancer who won't get the care they need
For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare

We will keep fighting

The cheapest plan available to me (a Georgian) is over $1,000 a month. Healthcare is no longer an option for me. I will ration the medication I take for as long as I can and then I will wait to die.
So every freelancer you know is going to lose their insurance or be bankrupted by premiums because Schumer is an invertebrate

Some Dems fuming about this deal.

Sen. Tammy Duckworth:

“I simply cannot, and I will not, vote to do nothing to help protect [ppl who rely on ACA] from Trump’s vindictive and malicious efforts in exchange for a vague promise from the least trustworthy Republican party in our nation’s history."

Can't wait for tomorrow's fundraising email from the Democratic Party.

Imagine what the moderate Dems would have signed up for if we lost on Tuesday

I've been out on Chris Coons since all those stories came out about him and Jeff Flake being best buds, but he's showing he's got balls right now
The government has been shut down for 40 days—the longest in history. All Democrats have fought hard for extending the Affordable Care Act tax credits that make health care affordable for millions. I’m voting against the bill given it doesn’t extend these valuable tax credits.

I haven't had a lot of good things to say about Pelosi these days, but I could never say she was a pushover

Standing next to Schumer, we all knew who the boss was
When I wrote this little thread about Nancy Pelosi earlier in the week, this is exactly the kind of thing I was talking about. She is deeply flawed, but she was great in moments like these. She held her much bigger, much more ideologically diverse caucus together.
I don't think I've ever had more mixed feelings about a politician than I have had about Nancy Pelosi. She was a historic figure as the first woman Speaker, and she was wildly effective at that job, corralling Democrats in a way no one had before.

But...

Unfortunately today’s politics basically make it impossible to become a senator without being a bitch.
