Everyone hates this shit so much. It’s a bipartisan issue. AI sucks. It’s intrusive. It isn’t magical nor is it changing the world other than in the amount of money being wasted on it. Consumers are increasingly offended by its presence
"The most terrible time of the year"

McDonald’s pulls AI-generated Christmas advert in the Netherlands. The advert, titled "the most terrible time of the year," depicts Christmas chaos, with Santa caught in a traffic jam and a present-laden cyclist slipping in the snow

Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

In under 1600 words.

Even if you *believed* it, can you imagine the impunity Bovino must believe he has to *admit* under oath he doesn’t believe he’s beholden to the Constitution?
Overnight court filings seem to be giving us a peek at what U.S. Border Patrol commander Greg Bovino said in his deposition so far (it apparently continues today):

I talk about this every year but it's notable that everywhere else *but* the U.S. (and Canada, partially) sees a version of the World Series where every player's nationality is prominently displayed whenever they enter the game or come up to bat

Remember, when you're licking their boots by advocating for price-fixing, that MLB owners are already planning for a 2027 lockout 13 months ahead of the CBA expiration. They already know they're doing it.

I feel stupid announcing this, but I think it has more of an effect if I do: I cancelled Disney, Hulu, and ESPN+. And I plan to shoplift Andor season 2 when it comes to Blu-ray.

When Russia began bombarding farmers in Kherson with FPV drones, Oleksandr Hordienko fought back, shooting down over 80 with his rifle.

Russians took notice.

“They’re hunting me,” he said.

It should have been the lead story in every paper in America: A president all but declaring war on the 3rd-largest US city

But there's an even better angle to the Chicago story. Leaders, everyday people aren't having it. Trump picked the wrong fight

Sports was one of America's most accessible forms of entertainment. Now it's paywalled, splintered and sold to the highest bidder.

They are so unbelievably and terribly desperate. You don’t do things like this unless you are scraping the bottom of the barrel for revenue and adoption. This is the ultimate form of the tech industry: a despicable, wretched, entitled, destructive, abusive digital despot that wants to con your kids.
So, uh... I just did a Google search which was not about homework... because I haven't been in school in decades, and I got this pop up from Google. And, like, I actually think there are ways to use AI in school properly, but this kind of advertising from Google seems... super sketchy.
