A GE 70 MeV electron synchrotron, a type of particle accelerator used for radiation therapy. 1956-64, it is this huge box that looks like a 1950s fridge on a giant claw where a doctor grabs it from its aperture and aims it at a patient lying on a gurney in a tall empty room.
